I’m a bit late to the party as usual, but here we are Pick a favorite for each gender from my current top tens (in no particular order), and tell me why (if you want to of course)
[name_f]Tiferet[/name_f] - I have actually never heard of this name before, but it intrigued me. It has a soft sound and I like how the “Tif” at the beginning echoes [name_f]Tiffany[/name_f], and the ending “et” fits in well with current favourites like [name_f]Violet[/name_f] - which makes it feel familiar even though it’s completely unfamiliar to me!
[name_m]Shaul[/name_m] - again, another one I haven’t heard of, but it is instantly recognisable thanks to its connection to [name_m]Saul[/name_m]. I think it has a lovely sound.
[name_f]Saffron[/name_f]- It’s bright and colourful, but in a strong, rich, deep way. There’s a down to earth, calm, sensible feel about it with an underlying passion and fire.
[name_m]Reef[/name_m]- It has such a lovely image, and I’m a sucker for a short, but sweet, boyish nature name. It’s all crisp clear blues and exciting adventures.
[name_f]Saffron[/name_f], of course! this is one of my top girls names! I love the imagery and sounds, and plus it is one of the colors of [name_f]India[/name_f], so extra meaning for me!
[name_m]Reef[/name_m]! I like the short sounds and nature theme.
So hard- your girls list is lovely! I think I will choose Gló. I like her short length as she feels simple, sleek, and bright, and the spelling just looks really appealing to me. Chodesh was a close second as again, I find the look and sound really intriguing!
[name_m]Shaul[/name_m] is my pick for boys. He’s so under-rated and I think he’s a handsome, lovable name with a smooth sound.
saffron i love the unique sound and vibrant and warm imagery! tomine is a close second- i just love her for you!!
reef i just love the sound of this name! i love r names and it feels like my favourite rafe but with a more beachy feel. though snær is a name super close to my heart- it was one of our dog’s names!
Gló and Brialdur Gló because Gloria is one of my favourite names ever (my little sister’s name), and Glo is her nickname. Gló feels glowy, full of love and light.
Brialdur is a new name for me and it sounds so epic, ancient and cool! I love it! Is Brialdur a version of Gabriel?
[name_f]Mehetabel[/name_f] ~ There cannot be any better meaning for a name in the whole world than “God makes happy”–what a beautiful sentiment! I’m also a sucker for names ending in “bel” and obscure Bible names.
[name_m]Benaiah[/name_m] ~ I’m always looking for less common ways to get to [name_m]Benny[/name_m], and [name_m]Benaiah[/name_m] is a great option! [name_f]Unique[/name_f] and individual, but easy to pronounce and doesn’t feel out of place amongst today’s Issacs, Isaiahs, Malachais, Zebedees, Ashers, etc.
