[name]Guinevere[/name] ? [name]Guinevere[/name] was my first choice, but with my brother named [name]Lance[/name], my husbands dislike of names associated with books/movies (and lets face it this one is popculture drenched) it may not make it past his censors.
[name]Gwendolyn[/name] ? I really didn’t like [name]Gwendolyn[/name] a few days ago but it is growing on me. The more i hear it the easier it is to imagine a prerty, frilly little girlwho wants to be a mama and a balerina. Lol She could be a [name]Gwen[/name] or a [name]Winnie[/name]. Plus the middle names we like go with [name]Gwendolyn[/name] a little better then [name]Guinevere[/name].
[name]Gwenith[/name]? I don’t like [name]Gwenith[/name]. I think its too much [name]Gwenith[/name] Paltrow. It sounds more harsh ans up tight to me.
So how about you. Which is your favorite [name]Gwen[/name]?
I like [name]Guinevere[/name], it flows better than [name]Gwendolyn[/name] and [name]Gwenith[/name], and sounds prettier (plus I love Arthurian legend!) However I do love [name]Gwendolyn[/name] also, and the nn [name]Winnie[/name] would be adorable! I do not like [name]Gwenith[/name].
I like [name]Gwendolyn[/name]. [name]Guinevere[/name] is a close second, but it comes with a lot of affiliation! [name]Gwendolyn[/name], to me, has a similar feel to other vintage names that are coming back into vogue - [name]Charlotte[/name], [name]Violet[/name], [name]Ruby[/name], etc. Due to [name]Gwyneth[/name] Paltrow, I feel like [name]Gwenith[/name] would get a lot of misspellings and mispronounciations.
gwen-EE-ruh is what I always use, but it could be pronounced gwen-IE-ra as well, both are apparently used in [name]Wales[/name] (one in [name]North[/name] [name]Wales[/name], the other in South [name]Wales[/name]).
It means white/blessed+snow
I don’t know if I like any of them… [name]Gwendolyn[/name] is kind of pretty, but I can’t decide.
I do like [name]Genevieve[/name], though. I know, it’s not technically a [name]Gwen[/name] name, but it’s similar, right?
I love [name]Gwendolyn[/name] actually. [name]Ever[/name] since I heard it in a commercial. Ahaha.
[name]Gwendolyn[/name] could go by [name]Gwen[/name], [name]Winnie[/name], [name]Dolly[/name], [name]Lynn[/name], Endie = [name]Andie[/name], [name]Wendy[/name].
[name]Gwendolyn[/name]/[name]Gwendolen[/name] is by far my favorite! I know a little girl whose name is [name]Gwendylan[/name] (this spelling… :(), and she’s just adorable. Very prim and proper and girly, and she’s the youngest, most adorable violinist I think I’ve ever met. I think Adelise and [name]Gwendolyn[/name] is just adorable together! I love that she could be [name]Gwen[/name], [name]Winnie[/name], or even [name]Leni[/name], which is another huge favorite of mine!
My second favorite is [name]Gwenore[/name]. Sometimes I think I prefer it to [name]Gwendolyn[/name], but then I remember how much I’m really not a fan of [name]Norah[/name]/[name]Nora[/name] at all, and I quickly change my mind.
I like [name]Gwen[/name] just by itself. I can see the appeal of [name]Gwendolyn[/name], it is very feminine and frilly, but to my ear it seems very… stuffy. If I chose [name]Gwendolyn[/name] I’d probably use the nickname full time.
I like [name]Gwen[/name] standing on its own! Out of your choices though I would pick [name]Gwendolyn[/name] the best. My least favorite is [name]Gwenith[/name]
