Hello berries

Okay this is just ridiculous as I’m completely overanalysing as I’m not pregnant we are not going to try for another baby till Lilia is 3.5/4 years old if things go to plan so this is so far in advance it’s daft.

Anyways I’m obsessing over boys names! Obsessing! I thought I had nailed it with Solomon Malachi John until my dad spoke about how it reminded him of Alfie Solomon’s from Peaky Blinders (not a bad association but Thomas Shelby is far fitter :rofl::rofl::rofl:) and was too closely tied to my mums culture leaving his culture behind phrased not as eloquently it’s dad but still that’s was what was said in a nutshell. I think the last one was just winding up mum in all honesty (he is a wind up merchant) but he strongly prefers Malachi. Furthermore Malachi is tied to his culture (Malachy is more common) and the name is popular in Scotland/Ireland with the nickname Malky which I think is adorable. When I mentioned Malachi Christopher John to my partner he was very enthusiastic! So now I’m not sure which one is the first favourite so I’m looking to you berries to tell me which one you think is best. Settle it once and for all (well for 5 minutes at least)

Anyways what’s your favourite…?

  • Solomon Malachi John
  • Malachi Christopher John

Thank you lovely people it’s appreciated as always!

I do adore [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], but reading all your reasoning and the enthusiasm over [name_m]Malachi[/name_m], I’m going with that today. Also, [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Malky[/name_f] :heart_eyes:

Thank you I’m feeling [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] too!

both solomon and malachi are unique and meaningful names. solomon has hebrew origins and means “peaceful,” while malachi also has hebrew origins and means “messenger of God.” christopher is a classic name with greek origins meaning “bearer of Christ,” and john is also a classic name with hebrew origins meaning “God is gracious.”

ultimately, the decision on which name to choose should be based on your personal preferences and cultural background. if you prefer a more unique name, malachi might be the better choice, but if you prefer a classic and timeless name, solomon might be the better option. however, both names are great choices, and you can’t go wrong with either one.

Oh my gosh, I misread this as she is 3 going on 4 already and I was like HOW? Lol. I love Peaky Blinders, but I don’t think the association is that strong. I’m still team Solomon for you! Oh, but I love Malachi too… Malky is adorable.

I slightly prefer Malachi, but you couldn’t go wrong either way.

@autumn.leaves thank you for the feedback! I love that all the names have holy meanings behind them. In my social circle [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] is more common and familiar to people. I’m really blessed with a diverse group of wonderful friends it’s common amongst my black & traveller friends there is always [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] or someone who is related to [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] at a gathering which made [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] slightly more appealing. But statistically there isn’t much difference in the UK [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] ranks at 359 in the popularity charts + [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] at 382 so maybe it’s just anomaly that I feel surrounded by Malachi’s. Also does it really matter that I’m surrounded by Malachi’s? Anyways thank you!

@AerieEerie hahahaha no we haven’t all skipped a year of our lives :rofl::rofl: Lils is still only 2! Honestly as a family we are all obsessed by peaky blinders I think partly because it’s the only show that’s shown travellers/Roma people in an intelligent positive light. With dad being traveller having a [name_u]Roma[/name_u] grandma he loves the show so for him he was straightaway [name_u]Alfie[/name_u] [name_m]Solomon[/name_m]. Most people are saying they like [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] he is rather dashing. Anyways thank you for response :blue_heart:

@aiksx i think [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] is gorgeous too!

@snowmaiden ahhh thank you!!’

Bit late seeing this, my two cents are that you’re dad sounds like a crack up! Second, I see [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] as more steady, reliable, handsome man (and solemn) and [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] as more boisterous, cheeky and outgoing! I feel like you’d be bestowing frameworks for different personalities with this choice. :nerd_face:

I voted [name_m]Malachi[/name_m]. [name_m]Can[/name_m] I throw another name in the mix? :grin: Malcolm!! I looove [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] and it’s sort of a combo of [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] and [name_m]Malachi[/name_m].

@EloiseT Thank you responding! Honestly Dad is a crack up for sure he’s Hilarious and a massive wind up :joy::joy:
That’s why I took his [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] feedback with a pinch of salt :woman_facepalming:t3::joy: but I do agree with you that [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] & [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] have different energies and I would say if my potential son is anything like [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] he would suit [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] energy over the vibes [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] provides!

@Natawa thank you [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] is great perfect mash up of [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] & [name_m]Solomon[/name_m], I like the [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] X association especially but because of my partner family tradition of all the boys having bible names we wouldn’t be able to use [name_m]Malcolm[/name_m] unfortunately.

Peaky Blinders has a lot of good names, now that I think about it… I need to catch up on the show lol if you ever want to geek out about it feel free to DM me :laughing:

Whatever you pick, it’ll be great. You have excellent taste in names, as evidenced by your daughter! Lils is such a cute nickname for her, I’m curious what other ones she might have since she and I have similar names.

Omg Lils and [name_f]Malky[/name_f] tho :pleading_face: Could there BE a cuter pair of nicknames?

I voted for Malachi because I thought it flowed slightly nicer with Lilia… but I seriously adore Solomon. He’s so gentle, poetic, & strong :slight_smile: You really do have a difficult decision on your hands! Btw I’m totally with you on planning way too far in advance for my yet to be conceived children lol

@AerieEerie so many great names! I’m just sad the series is over I think a peaky blinders CAF is in order! I’m useless with technology have no idea how to PM but feel free to ping me one :white_heart:
Thank you for the compliment I just absolutely love names so I like to think I’ve got it semi nailed :crossed_fingers:t4::crossed_fingers:t4:
With [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] she’s known as [name_f]Lil[/name_f] & Lils mainly this is because my [name_u]Irish[/name_u] Grandma (dads mum) was known as [name_f]Lil[/name_f] as a child until it was moved to [name_f]Liz[/name_f] as a teenager. I like all the nods to her as I loved her tons and tons. We also call her [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_u]Joseph[/name_u] (my partner/Lilia’s daddy) likes to call her Lilybud. But that’s all the nicknames really! I do love Lils + [name_f]Malky[/name_f] I think they would so cute with a vintage flair.

@love.endures I love both as well but I do like how [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] & [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] sound together with the shared letters! Such a tough one!! Hahaha it’s a name nerd passion to plan way way into the future for these babies we may be blessed with :joy::rofl:
