Im just curious because in my dream world, I would have a set of twin boys.
Does anyone have twin boys? If so what are they called? and If not, what would you name your ideal set of twin boys if you were given a free reign?
I would call mine:
[name_m]Hector[/name_m] [name_m]Cyril[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Walter[/name_m]
and
[name_m]Leopold[/name_m] [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_m]Peter[/name_m]
yes I know three middle names is a bit much but hey…its my dream world!
They would both have [name_m]John[/name_m] as a middle name to honor my darling father whom I love insanely.
[name_m]Peter[/name_m] is to honor my Grandfather who again I love dearly.
[name_m]Emrys[/name_m] is slightly out there but its to honor my welsh heritage which I am proud of…and in [name_m]Merlin[/name_m], [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] is [name_m]Merlin[/name_m]'s alternative name (I would love to have twins named [name_f]Morgana[/name_f] and [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] but I dont think I could get away with it…my whole family got very into the TV show when it was on!)
[name_m]Cyril[/name_m] is gorgeous but I could never get away with it as a first name unfortunatly. ([name_m]Cyril[/name_m] and [name_m]Basil[/name_m] would make excellent twins!)
I would not name twins, triplets, etc any different than I would singles. For twin boys I would use my top 2 boys’ names, [name_m]Asher[/name_m] [name_m]Boone[/name_m] and [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] [name_m]Wolf[/name_m].
I would name twins differently to singletons. Me and my husband feel we could both use individual favourites that the other likes but maybe doesnt love. Not sure if that makes sense to anyone elsr?!
For example, if we had a girl I would love [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] and he would love [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]. Neither of us quite love the others choice enough but we think [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_f]Pearl[/name_f] would be wonderful girl twins.
Same for [name_m]Thomas[/name_m] and [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] the boy twins!
[name_m]Leopold[/name_m] reminds me of something in history which I only dimly remember (my ignorance seems to increase as my memory goes!), but which is to me an unpleasant association.
Also while I love [name_m]Leonard[/name_m] and [name_m]Leonid[/name_m] and [name_u]Lionel[/name_u]. the -pold sound in [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] sounds, well, cold.
I’m expecting twin boys in the new year, and their names are going to be [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]Edward[/name_m] and [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_u]Robin[/name_u] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]
And then one of these two because I love them both but I don’t want to have twins that both have the same name ending because two ‘son’ endings might be a bit much: [name_m]Jackson[/name_m] “[name_m]Jack[/name_m]” [name_m]Marcus[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]
[name_u]Mason[/name_u] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
All middle names are in honour of very important people to us…
([name_m]Matthew[/name_m] may be [name_m]Mathias[/name_m] or [name_m]Mateusz[/name_m])
We wouldn’t name twins any different than singles…
I would name twins: [name_m]Robert[/name_m] [name_m]Abel[/name_m] and [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] [name_f]Briar[/name_f]; [name_u]Robin[/name_u] and [name_u]Danny[/name_u]
I left out [name_m]Casper[/name_m] [name_u]Maurice[/name_u] which is my favourite combo at the moment, because it seems (to me) unfair to give one twin a family name and not the other, so I left it out. Also it seemed important for fairness that one twin would be called by a nickname constantly and the other not at all, which would be the case if I used [name_m]Casper[/name_m] and [name_m]Robert[/name_m]/[name_u]Robin[/name_u]. That aside [name_m]Robert[/name_m] [name_m]Abel[/name_m] and [name_m]Daniel[/name_m] [name_f]Briar[/name_f] are two of my top combos and I love both names.
[name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_m]Archer[/name_m] and [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] [name_u]Darcy[/name_u] would probably be my choice for twin boys, but I wouldn’t name them any differently than singletons.
I agree that it would be nice to say you wouldn’t treat/name twins any differently than you would a singleton, but I do think that naming twins has given us at least, more flexibility. For example, my husband wasn’t massive on [name_u]Florian[/name_u] as a middle, but he liked [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], and then I compensated by using [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] and [name_u]Jude[/name_u] for twin B. I’ve never had a single baby, but even though I wouldn’t purposely choose names differently, I think it does have an effect.
I’m like quite a few of the posters on the first page–I would choose the same names I’d choose for singletons! So [name_m]Caleb[/name_m] [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] and [name_u]Everett[/name_u] [name_m]Joshua[/name_m] [name_m]Charles[/name_m] for me. NNs (occasionally) [name_u]Cal[/name_u] and Ev. If I was going off of favorites for the day, [name_m]Grant[/name_m] and [name_u]Avery[/name_u]. Although I’m not sure I’d keep to the MNs I have with them currently, because [name_m]Ian[/name_m] is for sure one of my mns for [name_u]Avery[/name_u], and one of my potential middles for [name_m]Grant[/name_m]. So [name_m]Grant[/name_m] [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] and [name_u]Avery[/name_u] [name_m]Ian[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m], probably.
We have been overhauling our girls’ and boys’ names, so we have a new top 2. I would name them [name_m]Jack[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Birch[/name_m]. All four names honor family.
