I was looking through past posts on the future Top Names and imagining myself and my peers (who are now teens) naming children, those statistics don’t seem super accurate. What do you think will be popular 10 years or even 20 years from now?
I guess that in the upcoming years that double middles will blow up in the US. Especially on girls. I think it will become the normal thing to do.
I think that softer & flowy/long vintage names will get traded for stronger/tougher vintage names for girls. Like [name]Geraldine[/name] & [name]Thomasina[/name], [name]Joan[/name] & [name]Karen[/name]…names with a bit of a hard edge & uncommon feminizations will climb the charts.
Unusual word names will rise as well. Some commonly known ones like [name]Fern[/name] & [name]Magnolia[/name], but also stuff like [name]Arrow[/name] & [name]North[/name].
I think mid-century names are going to come back. [name]Carol[/name], [name]Judy[/name], [name]Deborah[/name], [name]Linda[/name], [name]Sharon[/name], [name]Barbara[/name], [name]Donald[/name], [name]Philip[/name], [name]Thomas[/name], [name]Robert[/name], [name]Roger[/name]/[name]Rodger[/name], [name]Gregory[/name], [name]Douglas[/name].

All of these names could probably fit in a classroom now but I think by 2020/2030 these names will be much more common.
I agree with this completely. All the Katies, Clares, Ashleys, etc along with the Aidens, Jeffs, Oscars, etc are going to be replaced with newer names.
For example: [name]Elowen[/name] and [name]Circe[/name] might be the new [name]Caitlyn[/name] in 2020-2030. All the uncommon and strange names will be the most popular.
I definitely agree with this, but I also think that a lot of children (more than today) will have interestingly spelled and made-up names such as Xyshanleighania and Henaryjamis. With this, I think that we will become more used to these yooneek names. That’s my prediction.
