Your opinion on Character's names

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Berries!

I have come up with an idea for a story and wanted to share the names of the characters so far to clarify whilst writing.

So my protagonist (and antagonist, it’s part of the plot) is called Taby. I wanted to have something that was stemmed from the name [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] for personal reasons, and thought that the nicknames [name_f]Tabby[/name_f] or [name_f]Tabi[/name_f] didn’t really suit her. I also thought about [name_f]Tabea[/name_f] or [name_f]Tibby[/name_f] but I’m not sure. Also, just [name_f]Tabitha[/name_f] which works but I need a second opinion on this dilemma.

Then the second main character, and Taby’s possible love interest will be [name_m]Torin[/name_m]. I don’t know whether Taby and [name_m]Torin[/name_m] (or any other variation) sounds good together but I am utterly resolute about [name_m]Torin[/name_m]. It’s perfect, it directly translates from Gaelic as “chief” which I feel reflects his personality brilliantly. I considered [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] instead, for the whole same initial dilemma but I’m afraid I have fallen in love with [name_m]Torin[/name_m]. Although I might use [name_m]Emrys[/name_m] for another character

Then, another character will be [name_f]Lucida[/name_f]. This is the name which I am most flexible about since I’m not as emotionally attached to it as the others  Origionally, I wanted [name_f]Luz[/name_f] for its meaning but came upon [name_f]Lucida[/name_f] and [name_f]Lusila[/name_f] instead and preferred it as it flowed better with Taby. I am all open to any other suggestions though. [name_f]Lucida[/name_f] will be the frustrating, slightly stupid underdog of the story.

The other characters names will be [name_f]Sistine[/name_f] and [name_u]Marion[/name_u] (a boy, pronounced [name_f]Mari[/name_f]-ON), this is perfect, my favourite name couple. And evil characters, [name_m]Primo[/name_m] and [name_f]Fiammetta[/name_f] (not particularly attached to [name_f]Fiammetta[/name_f] but it fits :).

Thank you very much in advance xx

I like the name Taby- it’s unique, but doesn’t look or sound weird (I think [name_f]Tabea[/name_f] and [name_f]Tibby[/name_f] do). I don’t think you’ll run into many problems with the same initial with Taby and [name_m]Torin[/name_m], and I love the name [name_m]Torin[/name_m]. [name_u]Marion[/name_u] as a boy is a little confusing, but if you’re attached to the name and it fits his personality, that’s fine. I don’t really have any suggestions other than that.

I think the spelling Taby could work, though most people would spell it [name_f]Tabby[/name_f]. [name_m]Luke[/name_m] could probably work ads far as names for boys go, or [name_m]Jake[/name_m].
