[name_f]Millicent[/name_f]
[name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
[name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] ([name_f]Magda[/name_f])
[name_u]Hollis[/name_u]
[name_f]Lisbeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f]
Liesl

  1. [name_f]Liesl[/name_f] – I love this name. It’s a little more distinctly [name_m]German[/name_m], but gosh I want it to cross over. Would love to meet a girl by this name. The closest I’ve come is knowing several hispanic girls/women named Liseth (lee-seth)who often go by [name_f]Lise[/name_f].

  2. [name_f]Lisbeth[/name_f] – though Liseth may be something to consider here, legit name that brings together [name_f]Liesl[/name_f] and lisbeth.

  3. [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] – love nn [name_f]Lena[/name_f] option too.

  4. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] – growing on me

  5. [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] – greatly prefer [name_f]Lisbeth[/name_f]

  6. [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] – I prefer on a boy

  7. [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] – [name_m]Just[/name_m] not a fan.

I love [name_u]Hollis[/name_u]. I love [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] as much as I love Hollin. [name_f]Love[/name_f] the sound of it.

if you like [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] and [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f], have you considered [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]?

I prefer [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] looks like a tease to me.

[name_f]Liesl[/name_f] is not my taste, nor is [name_f]Millicent[/name_f], but [name_f]Millie[/name_f] is cute. I prefer [name_f]Camille[/name_f] or [name_f]Marjorie[/name_f].

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] isn’t bad, I like [name_f]Mae[/name_f] better.
[name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] isn’t my taste really, but it appreciate its beauty. [name_f]Lena[/name_f] would also be a cute nn.

I adore [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] & [name_f]Liesl[/name_f]

[name_f]Liesl[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] or [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f]?

I thought I was the only one that liked [name_u]Hollis[/name_u]!

Not a huge fan of [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f], [name_f]Lizbeth[/name_f], or [name_f]Liesl[/name_f] but love the rest!

  1. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
  2. [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] (though I prefer [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f])
  3. [name_u]Hollis[/name_u]
  4. [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f]
  5. [name_f]Liesl[/name_f]
  6. [name_f]Lisbeth[/name_f]
  7. [name_f]Millicent[/name_f] - I just can’t get behind this name, in theory I should like it, it has all the right sounds and good rhythm, but it reminds me of the evil fairy Maleficent in Sleeping Beauty

Thx so much for replies!!!

I [name_f]LOVE[/name_f] [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f], the Scottish form! But hubby isn’t a fan. [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] is the [name_m]German[/name_m] version, but I do agree now with a PP that it might be misread/heard as a mistake for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. And I didn’t even think of the association with Maleficent!!! I’m happy you mentioned that. Especially with the [name_f]Angelina[/name_f] [name_f]Jolie[/name_f] movie coming out! Thank you.

Leisl is one of the few my husband and I can agree upon! And our first daughter is [name_u]Mischa[/name_u], so I like how they sound together. I’m a little worried about her being called Leisl deisel, but really, what name don’t kids make something out of it?! And [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] was on my boy list! I never considered it for a girl, but it’s starting to grow on me. Thx for your reply!

[name_u]Hollis[/name_u] was always on my boy name list, and it just occurred to me how it would be nice for a girl! I’m glad you mentioned [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] being a tease for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f]. It didn’t occur to me that it may looked misspelled. It’s the [name_m]German[/name_m] version of [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], and I prefer the Scottish version, [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f], but hubby doesn’t. thank you for replying!

[name_f]LOVE[/name_f] Leisl [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]. I didn’t think of those two names together. My first daughter is [name_u]Mischa[/name_u] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] - so I feel like that would go sweetly together with her name. Adding it to my short/final list of first and middle together! Thank you.

I think [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] sounds nice with my first daughter’s name, [name_u]Mischa[/name_u]! Sounds sweet together. Thank you!

I love [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] and [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] (I prefer this spelling!)

  1. [name_f]Millicent[/name_f]
  2. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
  3. [name_f]Liesl[/name_f]
  4. [name_u]Hollis[/name_u]
  5. [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] ([name_f]Magda[/name_f])
  6. [name_f]Lisbeth[/name_f]
  7. [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f]

[name_f]Millicent[/name_f] is gorgeous, interesting and underused. A real gem!

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] - love - beautiful meaning.
[name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] / [name_f]Lisbeth[/name_f] - I like both of these ok, but I prefer [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] (or [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]).
Leisl - this is cute and spunky.
[name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] ([name_f]Magda[/name_f]) - pretty, nms. I love [name_f]Lena[/name_f] though, so if you were going to call her that, this would move up for me.
[name_f]Millicent[/name_f] - I like this but there are prettier names.
[name_u]Hollis[/name_u] - too masculine and preppy sounding.

[name_f]Maeve[/name_f] - I love it.
[name_f]Millicent[/name_f] - I like it. The nickname [name_f]Millie[/name_f] is lovely!
[name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] ([name_f]Magda[/name_f]) - It’s okay.
[name_u]Hollis[/name_u] - I like it.
[name_f]Lisbeth[/name_f] - Reminds me of the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. It’s okay.
[name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] - I like it.
Leisl - I love it.

  1. [name_f]Liesl[/name_f]
  2. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
  3. [name_f]Lisbeth[/name_f] (though I prefer [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f])
  4. [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f] (though I prefer [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f])
  5. [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f]
  6. [name_f]Millicent[/name_f]
  7. [name_u]Hollis[/name_u]

I think you’re going to have the problem that most people will see Leisl and read it as [name_f]Liesl[/name_f] (most people replying did). [name_f]Liesl[/name_f] / [name_f]Liesel[/name_f] is a legitimate [name_m]German[/name_m] name and a diminutive of [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]. Leisl as well?
I’ve never heard of Leisl before and to be honest it looks like you accidentally misspelled [name_f]Liesl[/name_f].

I did misspell it! I want the [name_m]German[/name_m] spelling, like [name_f]Liesl[/name_f] [name_m]Von[/name_m] Trapp from the Sound of [name_f]Music[/name_f]. =)

That’s what I thought but then you also spelled it Leisl in replies to comments so I thought you meant that name (which according to Google exists and basically has the same origins).
Are you or your partner [name_m]German[/name_m] in any way?

  1. [name_f]Lisbeth[/name_f]
  2. [name_f]Liesl[/name_f]
  3. [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]
  4. [name_f]Magdalena[/name_f] ([name_f]Magda[/name_f])
  5. [name_f]Millicent[/name_f]
  6. [name_f]Elsbeth[/name_f]
  7. [name_u]Hollis[/name_u]
