So I have one question- what would you have been named if you were of the opposite gender? I always love finding this out, it’s like someones secret name:) Also, which do you like better
I’m a [name]Siobhan[/name], but if I was a boy, I would have been [name]Owen[/name]. I like [name]Siobhan[/name] better.
I’m an [name]Emily[/name], but would have been [name]Ian[/name], which I like but probably isn’t a name I would choose myself. I kind of feel the same way about [name]Emily[/name], it’s nice, and I like it better than a lot of other names that were popular in the '80’s, but I would have loved to be [name]Emmeline[/name] instead.
I’m [name]Freya[/name], and if I was a boy I would’ve been [name]Liam[/name]. I like [name]Liam[/name] a lot, though it’s not my favorite name. It ended up being my brother’s middle name (his first is [name]Matthew[/name]) and I might use it as a son’s middle someday too!
I was named [name]Margaret[/name] [name]Cynthia[/name] after my grandmothers, and had I been a boy, the plan was to name me [name]Charles[/name] [name]Dominic[/name] after my grandfathers. I say “plan”, because by the time I was born, I had cousins named [name]Charles[/name] on both sides of the family, so [name]Charles[/name] was out as a middle name. To replace it, my mother liked [name]James[/name] (Dad’s name), but Dad didn’t want a junior and thought they should stick with the original plan of honoring both grandfathers and go with Grandpa [name]Charles[/name]'s middle name [name]Thomas[/name]. They probably would have gone with [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Dominic[/name] in the end since Dad was so opposed to [name]James[/name], but I know that Mom refers to the baby she miscarried a few years later as J.D for [name]James[/name] [name]Dominic[/name].
If I had been a boy, my name would have been either [name]Charles[/name] “[name]Charlie[/name]”, [name]Jackson[/name] “[name]Jack[/name]”, or [name]Logan[/name].
I definitely prefer [name]Zoie[/name] (though [name]Logan[/name] was almost my middle name). But I do like [name]Charles[/name] and [name]Jack[/name] as middle names.
I probably would have been a [name]Roger[/name] [name]Perry[/name], which is what my brother is named. Though I’m sure my mother would have fought tooth and nail to have [name]Jeremy[/name] in consideration.
I’m definitely glad I was a girl so I could be [name]Athena[/name].
I’m an [name]Ashley[/name], but I would have been a [name]Tyler[/name] had I been a boy.
[name]Both[/name] names are in the top 5 for my birth year, so my parents (I’m pretty sure it was all my mom though) liked popular names.
I remember seeing a video of when my mom was pregnant, and she said that to the camera, that ‘this is either [name]Ashley[/name] or [name]Tyler[/name].’
It’s always something I remember so strongly, and I was pretty young when I saw that; and it got deleted later on.
My name’s [name]Erykah[/name] Dreme, if I was a boy, I’d be [name]Christopher[/name] [name]Michael[/name]. [name]Erykah[/name] Dreme is such a yooneek name (but I love it), but [name]Christopher[/name] and [name]Michael[/name] are such common names (especially in 97, my birth year). Idg my parents.
I am a [name]Stephanie[/name], but I would have been a [name]Matthew[/name] [name]Walter[/name]. [name]Matthew[/name] my parents just liked, and [name]Walter[/name] after my mother’s father who passed a few years before my birth. [name]Stephanie[/name] and my middle name [name]Elizabeth[/name] have no family meaning, they just liked them both.
I would have been a [name]Brandon[/name]. My sister would have been an [name]Alexander[/name]. I actually like [name]Alexander[/name], but [name]Brandon[/name] isn’t really my style.
I’m [name]Taylor[/name] [name]Louise[/name] and had I been a boy my name would have been [name]Tyler[/name] [name]Mitchell[/name]. I much prefer [name]Taylor[/name] [name]Louise[/name] to [name]Tyler[/name] [name]Mitchell[/name]. I like [name]Tyler[/name] but prefer it in the middle and [name]Mitchell[/name] just isn’t my style.
I’m an [name]Edith[/name] “[name]Edie[/name]”, but if I had been a boy I would have been a [name]Peter[/name] or a [name]Samuel[/name]. Not a big fan of [name]Peter[/name], but [name]Samuel[/name] is one of my favorite boys names!
I’m a [name]Jennifer[/name], but I would have been a [name]Robert[/name]. [name]Both[/name] very common names, but I think I prefer [name]Robert[/name] overall as it’s a bit less easy to date.
I’m [name]Margaret[/name] Elcy, after my grandmothers, though I’m almost exclusively called [name]Maggie[/name]. If I was a boy I would have been [name]Richard[/name] [name]Joseph[/name], after my grandfathers. I like [name]Joseph[/name], and love [name]Josephine[/name], but [name]Richard[/name]… no.
