These are some of the N names I am considering adding to my boy’s list. Your opnions please?
Naiman (nay-min): [name]Love[/name] the sound of it, but does it look totally made up? Alternate spellings?
[name]Nash[/name] - Not sure what to think about this one.
[name]Navarro[/name] - Not sure.
[name]Neville[/name] - Does it sound too much like devil?
[name]Nicholson[/name] - This one has special meaning to me…just wondering what you think of it.
[name]Niles[/name] - Not sure.
Neilsen - Really like the sound of it, but does it sound like a name?
[name]Noah[/name] - Too popular?
[name]Noble[/name] - I really like it, but would it be a hard name to live up to?
[name]North[/name] - Again, special meaning to me…just wondering what you think.
Napoli - This was my brother’s cat’s name and I always loved it, but is it fit for a human?
Naiman - To me (as a nerd), it reminds me of a mash-up of [name]Neil[/name] Gaiman’s two names together.
[name]Nash[/name] - It has a cool cowboy vibe.
[name]Navarro[/name] - Very unique. I kind of like it.
[name]Neville[/name] - It might be too tied to [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name]?
[name]Nicholson[/name] - If it has special meaning to you, I might keep it as a middle name.
[name]Niles[/name] - I have no opinion. It’s in between the British nerdyness of [name]Giles[/name] and the coolness of [name]Miles[/name].
Neilsen - I like [name]Neil[/name] by itself.
[name]Noah[/name] - I think [name]Noah[/name] is really popular. [name]Don[/name]'t let that deter you if you really love the name. What about [name]Noam[/name]?
[name]Noble[/name] - I know one little boy named [name]Noble[/name]. I like it one him. Definitely won’t work if your last name is a common noun though.
[name]North[/name] - I love [name]North[/name], but I would tend to make it a middle name. If you are bold, use it as a first.
Napoli - I don’t think this is a good human name.
I really don’t like any on that list except [name]Noble[/name], [name]North[/name], or [name]Niles[/name]. I like [name]Noble[/name] for the middle more, but those are the ones I love!
Naiman- it does look a little made up to me.
[name]Nash[/name]- the first things I think of are Nashville and, for some odd reason, the word smash.
[name]Navarro[/name]- not a big fan.
[name]Neville[/name]- it doesn’t sound like devil. I think of the [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] character [name]Neville[/name] Longbottom.
[name]Nicholson[/name]- a nice altenative to [name]Nicholas[/name].
[name]Niles[/name]- its sounds like a name a nerd would have.
Neilsen- I like it, actually.
[name]Noah[/name]- I really like this name, but it has become popular.
[name]Noble[/name]- this just doesn’t seem like a name to me.
[name]North[/name]- I like this a lot more than I thought I would. It’s a cool name.
Napoli- sounds like it could be an Italian surname.
I’m not the hugest fan of “N” names in general, so the only one I really love is [name]Noah[/name] (I agree with the pp–forget popularity! [name]Noah[/name]'s fabulous!). Although I can see your concerns, too. I loved it when it didn’t seem like it was everywhere and now it’s in the top 5! I don’t know that I’ll ever use it as a FN (unless it’s the only thing my future husband and I can compromise on!), but I am strongly considering it as a MN and I do really adore it!
I do sort of like [name]Niles[/name], [name]Nash[/name], and [name]North[/name], but I don’t think I would use them. Naiman reminds me of the Biblical [name]Naaman[/name], who was healed from leprosy by [name]Elijah[/name] by dipping seven times in the [name]Jordan[/name] [name]River[/name]. I honestly like [name]Naaman[/name] more, I think.
Sorry if any of this is harsh - I think we have a different naming style, but I want to be honest:
Naiman (nay-min): It seems like a mash up to me, or perhaps a last name. It’s hard for me to see it as a first name.
[name]Nash[/name] - It’s ok. I tend to think of it as short for Nashville though and I’m not big on place names.
[name]Navarro[/name] - I just think of [name]Dave[/name] [name]Navarro[/name]. I only see it as a last name.
[name]Neville[/name] - I don’t think devil at all. I think of the [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] character, and in general it has a very geeky vibe to me.
[name]Nicholson[/name] - Again, last names as first names really don’t work for me. I also think of [name]Jack[/name] [name]Nicholson[/name].
[name]Niles[/name] - Very geeky vibe for me. I prefer [name]Miles[/name].
Neilsen -I’ve only ever seen [name]Nielsen[/name], and I think the ending again makes me feel like it’s a surname. It’s rather close to [name]Nelson[/name] too which I have mixed feelings about.
[name]Noah[/name] - [name]How[/name] popular is too popular for you? It’s certainly more popular than anything else on this list. I don’t think it’s extremely popular though. I’ve only known two or three.
[name]Noble[/name] - Maybe as a middle name? I go to [name]Barnes[/name] & [name]Noble[/name] all the time so for me I associate it with books and surnames, however I think it could make an amazing middle name. That was you could have it without being quite so much pressure to live up to.
[name]North[/name] - It’s just a direction to me. I think there’s a movie called this with a character of the same name. I can see the appeal though, although as I said it doesn’t feel like a name to me.
Napoli - I think it’s odd to use a name that’s been used on a family pet. I think it’s a great name for a cat though so thumbs up on that one. I don’t see it as a people name though, no.
I like [name]Nicholson[/name], [name]Noah[/name], [name]Noble[/name], [name]Nash[/name], and [name]North[/name]. [name]Niles[/name] and [name]Neville[/name] are too tied to characters for me- [name]Niles[/name] from The [name]Nanny[/name] and [name]Neville[/name] Longbottom from [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name]. Others just aren’t for me.
My favourite N names are [name]Nathaniel[/name]/[name]Nathanael[/name]/[name]Natanael[/name], [name]Nicholas[/name], and Nehemya. [name]Nathan[/name]'s not bad but I don’t like it as much as [name]Nathaniel[/name].
I don’t particularly like [name]Noah[/name], but I like [name]Noam[/name].
I like [name]North[/name] okay, I wouldn’t use it, but I don’t dislike it. [name]North[/name] and [name]Noah[/name] would be my favourites of your list.
[name]Neville[/name] doesn’t sound like devil but as an American expat, [name]Neville[/name]/[name]Nigel[/name] both sound very UK/Commonwealth to me.
I prefer either [name]Nigel[/name] or [name]Miles[/name] to [name]Niles[/name].
Naiman is a Jewish surname - not super common, but it’s not necessarily going to come across as being a sound out of your head. To someone who recognizes it as a surname, it would look very weird as a first. It’s also kind of reminiscient of [name]Neiman[/name] [name]Marcus[/name].
[name]Nash[/name], [name]Neil[/name], [name]Noah[/name], [name]North[/name] are ok with me. The others on your list, really not.
Naiman- Sounds like neigh- man. Meh.
[name]Nash[/name]- Too country, imo.
[name]Navarro[/name]- Eh…
[name]Neville[/name]- Reminds me of [name]Neville[/name] from [name]Harry[/name] Pottor. It is nice.
[name]Nicholson[/name]- Meh…too similar to the actor.
[name]Niles[/name]- Like the [name]Nile[/name] [name]River[/name]? Jk…I think it is nice.
Neilsen- Meh…
[name]Noah[/name]- Like, but it is really popular.
[name]Noble[/name]- This is nice.
[name]North[/name]- Doesn’t work. [name]East[/name] and [name]West[/name] work, but [name]North[/name] does not.
Napoli- Reminds me of [name]Napolean[/name].
I also like [name]Nazareth[/name], [name]Nolan[/name], and [name]Nigel[/name].
