Your thoughts on Miles?

I have loved the name [name_m]Miles[/name_m] for years and always thought it would work perfectly with our daughter’s name, [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. I had only known one [name_m]Miles[/name_m] my whole life that I had met in college and he was only an acquaintance. Therefore, my perception is that it wasn’t a very popular name. I grew up in the northeast but now live in the southeast. My daughter goes to a small preschool and has TWO little boys named [name_m]Miles[/name_m] in her class and yet another one in her gymnastics class. It has me really worried since popularity is a huge factor for me. I looked on SSA on the national list and my state’s list and it doesn’t look very popular (isn’t even in my state’s top 100).

Is this just a weird coincidence or is [name_m]Miles[/name_m] somehow way more popular than I thought it was? Perhaps is it a popular name in the south?

I love [name_m]Miles[/name_m]! Its one of my most favorite boys names since my first date with my now husband to see a musician called Mojo [name_m]Myles[/name_m] (though I prefer the [name_m]Miles[/name_m] spelling) I’ve never met a little [name_m]Miles[/name_m], I don’t think its super popular and it’s adorable with [name_f]Nora[/name_f]!

I have never met anyone named [name_m]Miles[/name_m], nor have I seen it on any birth announcements in my area. Having said that, it was #56 in our state last year (western U.S.). I think it’s still usable.
