We are expecting #5 and a name I have been crushing on recently is [name]Nicola[/name]. I am wondering what your thoughts on it are and if you think it goes with my sibset ([name]John[/name], [name]Thomas[/name], [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Freya[/name]). [name]TIA[/name]!
Female Machiavelli? I kid. It seems you dear are more daring when it comes to your daughters. [name]Nicole[/name] and it’s variations for me have been tainted ever since I hear it was the most common stripper or porn name. If I were you, I’d go very [name]Velvet[/name] Underground and go with the glamorous [name]Nico[/name].
I like [name]Nicola[/name] and it feels perfectly logical in the set!
I think my post disappeared. I like [name]Nicola[/name] and like it with you sibset. My concern if you are in the US is that rhyming it with Coca Cola might be something you occasionally deal with.
It depends on how you pronounce it. Were you thinking [name]NICK[/name]-ola or nick-[name]OLA[/name]? I’ve heard both, and either way, you’re bound for mispronunciation.
It’s a pretty name, but it doesn’t make a statement like both [name]Isla[/name] and [name]Freya[/name] do. The blend between the names isn’t disjointed, but it doesn’t quite sound like a “set” either, if you know what I mean. A French variation, [name]Colette[/name], might work better.
Here are some more suggestions:
[name]Antonia[/name]
[name]Stella[/name]
[name]Gianna[/name]
[name]Annika[/name]
[name]Caterina[/name]
[name]Noa[/name]
[name]Amelie[/name]/[name]Ameline[/name]
[name]Marla[/name]
[name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Elodie[/name]
[name]Alma[/name]
[name]Mabel[/name]
[name]Lena[/name]
[name]Aurora[/name] nn [name]Rory[/name]
[name]Sabine[/name]
[name]Amandine[/name]
[name]Miriam[/name]
[name]Camilla[/name]
[name]Chloe[/name]
[name]Esme[/name]
[name]Marie[/name]
[name]Elena[/name]
[name]Maya[/name]
[name]Daisy[/name]
Thanks for the feedback! I pronounce it something like [name]Nick[/name]-uh-la.
I love [name]Nicola[/name] with your childrens names-it’s uncommon (but recognizable), and ending with an A. But I say it differently (and I have no explainable reason why)- it’s more like Nee-coh-la.
I say Nih-coh-luh. Very cute, a nice little change from [name]Nicole[/name].
I really like [name]Nicola[/name], and I think it goes great with your other kids’ names! Most people I know pronounce it like you do.
