I am absolutely in love with the name [name]Nora[/name]. However, the last name is one syllable and starts with N. Substitute the word “noise” if you need to. I’m worried it’ll sound too tacky, I guess? I also like the similar name [name]Cora[/name], but…I still like [name]Nora[/name] the best.
Help?
I don’t think alliteration is nearly as bad as everyone else seems to think… I know a [name]Kayla[/name] [name]Kennedy[/name] and thin her name sounds so lovely all put together! So, I think [name]Nora[/name] “Noise” could be really great! That being said, if it bothers you there are other ways to get to [name]Nora[/name], i.e. [name]Eleanor[/name] “Noise” =)
I actually really like alliteration. Some of my favorite names are alliterative combos ([name]Amy[/name] [name]Augusta[/name], [name]Lane[/name] [name]Lawson[/name], [name]Milena[/name] Miette, etc.). I think it sounds lyrical. Despite what others thing of alliteration, [name]Nora[/name] N-- appeals to me.
I think it’s fine but [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Lenore[/name] or [name]Honora[/name] could always be used as a way to get to [name]Nora[/name] & avoid alliteration.
I love alliteration! I think it sounds awesome. [name]Nora[/name] is a beautiful names as well, I much prefer it to [name]Cora[/name].
Alliteration is totally cool, as long as the names sound nice together. [name]Nora[/name] [name]Nelson[/name] is good, whereas [name]Nora[/name] [name]Norris[/name] could be a problem
I like alliteration as long as it doesn’t rhyme or repeat too many key sounds. [name]Nora[/name] Noise is great. It makes the name memorable, [name]IMO[/name]. I say go for it.
I’ve grown up with an alliteration name and I’ve never had a problem with it. My best friend’s name is also alliteration. I would say just make sure to give her a middle name that does not start with “N”
I think that alliteration can work really well in some instances, but I’m not loving the sound of [name]Nora[/name] Noise. If I were in your shoes, I think I would use something like [name]Eleanor[/name] Noise or [name]Annora[/name] Noise and then use [name]Nora[/name] as a nickname.
I love alliteration. [name]Nora[/name] Noise is fine.
I don’t necessarily love alliteration, but I do not hate it. I prefer [name]Nora[/name] to [name]Cora[/name], and [name]Nora[/name] “Noise” is workable.
I agree with this. I’d take into account the sound of your name, as the alliteration is less noticeable/repetitive if the vowel sound going along with the N is different.
