[name_f]Fable[/name_f] - This is one of my favorite guilty pleasures, especially to honor a love of literature! I’m also a sucker for the long ‘a’ sound in this name.
[name_m]Alistair[/name_m] - One of my favorite masculine names! I love the dark academia vibes paired with its classic, soft feel. It always comes off as an unexpected choice to me which is a bonus.
Girls: [name_f]Blair[/name_f], [name_f]Scout[/name_f], [name_f]Greer[/name_f], [name_f]Blythe[/name_f]. I chose these because I love short, sporty names for girls. Bonus if it it could be a family surname as well.
Boys: [name_m]Finley[/name_m], [name_m]Wesley[/name_m], [name_m]Rowan[/name_m], [name_m]Caspian[/name_m]. I love the nicknames [name_m]Fin[/name_m], [name_m]Wes[/name_m], [name_f]Row[/name_f], and [name_m]Cas[/name_m], and these are handsome full names to get to those nicknames.
[name_f]Scout[/name_f] → cool and stylish, with an outdoorsy, rough and tumble feel but it feels a little preppy and breezy too. I like the literary connection and distinctive sound
Runners up would be [name_f]Amity[/name_f] (a friendly, sparkly virtue name) and [name_f]Meredith[/name_f] (warm and cool)
[name_m]Caspian[/name_m] → another literary favourite that feels gentle and adventurous, familiar but distinctive and just all round lovely
The gentle, earthy [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] and poetic [name_m]Leander[/name_m] were almost my choices too
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
I absolutely love [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] she’s sweet, peaceful, holy and has pretty cottagecore imagery. I love the nicknames surrounding [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] such as [name_f]Evie[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f], [name_f]Angie[/name_f], [name_f]Lina[/name_f] or even [name_m]Angel[/name_m]. [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] makes me smile.
[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_m]Finley[/name_m]
I’ve always had a soft spot for [name_m]Finley[/name_m] he’s so handsome, soft, outdoorsy and sweet. I love the charming boyish flair of [name_m]Finley[/name_m]. He’s charming.
[name_f]Delphine[/name_f] - it’s so dainty and [name_m]French[/name_m], but sounds just right for this moment. I like the association with dolphins, and that interesting “ph” in the middle.
[name_m]Griffin[/name_m] - I find this an adorable name for a boy, but one that can grow up well, too. The mythological creature association is fun. I really like that “ff” in the middle, too!
[name_f]Scout[/name_f]
I’ll be honest, [name_f]Scout[/name_f] took a long time to grow on me, but I love how free-spirited and adventurous it sounds! I imagine a girl who loves spending time outdoors–climbing trees, camping, making forts, etc.
[name_m]Wesley[/name_m]
This was my favorite boy name for years, and I still absolutely love it! Such a sweet sounding name. I imagine a really laid back, gentle boy.
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] ~ she’s sort of “Southern Belle” to me but also sort of French-chic, which I love! I love that she sounds good on any age, and grows with the person. She could be a cute little [name_f]Evie[/name_f], a sporty teen [name_f]Eva[/name_f], or a refined, feminine adult [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]. I also love the meaning “good news.”
very close second was [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], another one of my favorites (:
[name_m]August[/name_m] ~ my favorite boys name! I love the summery, nostalgic imagery he evokes, the connection to the [name_f]Taylor[/name_f] [name_m]Swift[/name_m] song, and the character from [name_m]Wonder[/name_m], one of my favorite books.
[name_f]Octavia[/name_f] is beautiful and strong and I’m surprised she isn’t used more often.
[name_m]August[/name_m] seems like it’s a hot name right now but for good reason, it’s a handsome name.
