Ysabel?

Everyone knows me by Isabel, but my legal name starts with “Y”.
Since “Isabel” is not my official name, I am considering changing the spelling of my preferred name to [name_f]Ysabel[/name_f].
It sounds more unique but I guess I would need to get used to say “[name_f]Isabel[/name_f] with Y” all the time. Also I work in a quite conservative industry.

I have met a girl called [name_f]Ysabel[/name_f] in Spain and my [name_m]French[/name_m] friends tell me that it doesn’t sound weird but I wanted to know what you guys think :slight_smile:

I like it, but as you know, you will have to always point it out. If you love it though and you’re prepared for that, I think it’s fine.

I actually really like it. It’s beautiful and well, more unique, but I get that it’s a pain to have to correct people all the time. In the end it just depends on what you’re comfortable with, really.
