Thinking of Yvaine Helena. She would be a sister to our DS R0bin D0uglas.

If you vote, could you please explain in the comments your response? I love hearing people’s thoughts from this community.

[name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] and [name_f]Helena[/name_f] are two of my favorites and I think they work well together. I think [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] would work with brother Rob!n, though it wouldn’t be a sibset I would think of.

[name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f] has such strength, sharpness and elegance! I like it for you!

I think if it were me, I’d choose a slightly softer middle, but that’s just my tastes; this combo fits with your son’s name

Thank you for the feedback. What MN would you use?

I really want to use [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] as a first name, so any MN suggestions would be welcome

I just don’t think [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] works as a first name

I love [name_f]Robin[/name_f] [name_m]Douglas[/name_m], and [name_f]Helena[/name_f] is a long term love of mine but I don’t like [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] - so I’m under your “doesn’t work (for me)” (second) category. I don’t like that the sound /association vain and vein is in the name. It might get “I (am) vain”, “Y(ou’re) vain” comments or associations. But I do get that it might have the [name_f]Neil[/name_f] Gaiman charm and the meaning is beautiful! I much prefer other Scottish & Welsh / medieval names.

Taking R D’s name into account too, I’m thinking:

[name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] [name_f]Cassia[/name_f]
[name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] [name_f]Ruby[/name_f]
[name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] [name_f]Lois[/name_f]
[name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] [name_f]Elspeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] [name_f]Lilias[/name_f]
[name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] [name_f]Juniper[/name_f]
[name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] [name_f]Laurel[/name_f]
[name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] [name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] [name_f]Mabel[/name_f]

Might not be your style though

I get what you mean. I do really like it and the associations but I am not sure about usability in the real world

I have the same issue with [name_f]Faline[/name_f]! [name_f]Love[/name_f] it but can see why not be the easiest to wear…

I would not dwell on vain part. Many names do have weird parts (like Beatrice), but I think [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f] is gorgeous. That said, since [name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] has accent on second syllable, it work wonderfully as middle name (like [name_f]Nicole[/name_f] or Louise), but I still think combo is beautiful.

So true about the weird parts! Thank you for your feedback

[name_f]Helena[/name_f] has multiple pronunciations - which one are you using?

[name_f]Yvaine[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f] is so pretty! Along with brother’s name the pair gives me an Arthurian feel for some reason. A little whimsical and romantic. I also just love the strength of that combo, it seems like it would suit a feisty girl well.
