Very pleased to announce the safe arrival of baby girl: [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] arrived early of the 23rd of [name_m]August[/name_m] at a 4:43AM weighing in at 6lbs9oz.
[name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] is healthy and happy and we are already home which was a big change from last time with the twins. [name_m]Jago[/name_m] and [name_f]Verity[/name_f] are equal parts fascinated, enamoured, and confused by their new baby sister.
Anybody who has followed our naming journey with baby girl will know how much we fell in love with the name [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] and it was our top choice. We had a few names on our shortlist going into the hospital: [name_f]Oonagh[/name_f], [name_f]Romy[/name_f], [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], and [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f]. It was a close call with [name_f]Romy[/name_f] for a moment but [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] just fit her so perfectly.
[name_f]Marielle[/name_f] is to honour my sister and my husband’s sister, we sort of smushed their names around and got to [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] which we thought was very pretty and was a good way to honour both our sisters.
As for the third “whimsical name” (husband’s term, not mine),I didn’t want to use a nature name like we did with J & V as [name_f]Zinnia[/name_f] is already a nature name and so we looked at more literary or musical references and settled on [name_f]Bronte[/name_f] for my love of the [name_f]Brontë[/name_f] sisters but we decided against the umlaut for the sake of simplicity and because accents of any kind just aren’t the norm in the UK.
We are settling in at home and learning how we work as a family of five and enjoying our little family bubble for as long as possible. Can’t quite believe I have three under three, the sheer amount of laundry already is mind boggling!
