Hey Everyone,
[name]Just[/name] wanted to know how the pair sounded? Or if it was too off the charts?
Thanks!
Hey Everyone,

Thanks!
I think that it sounds very pretty! For me, it’s not too “off the charts”, but then again, I like uncommon names.

[name]Delia[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Zelda[/name] [name]Mae[/name]
[name]Azalea[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]/[name]Margot[/name] (nn [name]Zelia[/name], but it’s a bit of a stretch)
[name]Zuleika[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]/[name]Margaret[/name]/[name]Margot[/name] (ditto about the nn)
Thanks! I like [name]Zelia[/name] and it’s so different from [name]Frederick[/name] [name]Grey[/name], [name]Isadora[/name] and [name]Clio[/name]… I wasn’t sure if I was losing my mind!
Actually, I think that [name]Zelia[/name] goes quite well with your girls names, especially [name]Clio[/name]!
Is it pronounced with a short E like [name]Zelda[/name] or a long E like [name]Celia[/name]?
I believe it’s ZEHL ya

Other possible options…
ZEEL ya
Zeh [name]LEE[/name] ah
ZEH lee ah
ZAYL ya
Zay [name]LEE[/name] ah
It looks a little made up. Is it an established name, just curious. Other options are [name]Zinnia[/name] or you could use it as a nn for [name]Cecilia[/name].
It’s not made up. I did a little research on the name and found some women dated back from the 1800s with the name. Also, Facebook came up with 500 results from people with the name.
[name]ZELIA[/name]
Gender: F
Origin: Hebrew
Meaning: “zealous, ardent”
An appealing name almost unknown in our culture but with roots in several others; worldlier than cousins [name]Celia[/name] and [name]Delia[/name].
Hmm, it reminds me of [name]Zara[/name]! (I wish there weren’t a clothing chain by that name.)
Thanks for you feedback [name]Fay[/name]!
I love [name]Zelia[/name] [name]Mae[/name]!!
Thank you anna-s and cecily.
I think it’s cute! If you care about pronunciation issues, though, I wouldn’t use it. My default would not have been your preferred, I think I’d say it as [name]Zee[/name]-lee-uh, but not with a full 3 syllables, more like 2.5, ya know? Anyway, I think it’s pretty any way you pronounce it, what a nice find!
think it will age well?
I like [name]Zelia[/name] but I think “[name]Mae[/name]” has kind of a lower class tone to it . . . don’t mean to sound hurtful but that’s just my honest opinion of it. What about [name]Zelia[/name] [name]Jane[/name] or [name]Zelia[/name] [name]Ann[/name]/[name]Anne[/name]?
I’m not stuck on [name]Mae[/name] It’s [name]Zelia[/name] that I’m more interested in! I was wondering if [name]Mae[/name] would sound like a filler as well… but i like your idea of mixing [name]Zelia[/name] with more well known traditional names.

Also I even like [name]Mae[/name] better if you spell it [name]May[/name] instead . . . or what about another month like [name]Zelia[/name] [name]June[/name]?

I was thinking of a [name]Margaret[/name] spin-off, but wasn’t really a big deal. I’m generally not a month/name personal.
I have names I really love - [name]Isadora[/name], [name]Clio[/name] and [name]Elaina[/name], but am still looking!! And I came across [name]Zelia[/name], which I think is lovely too.
