WDYT and do you think it would be misheard as [name_f]Celia[/name_f] (which I don’t like)?
I thought it was pronounced zehl-ee-uh not zel-ee-uh just from looking at it. zel-ee-uh may get confused with [name_f]Celia[/name_f], zehl-ee-uh sounds different enough not to be. I think its a nice name regardless!
Well, to the best of my knowledge, there really isn’t any distinction between [name_f]Zelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Celia[/name_f] whatsoever. When I say my name, I think a lot of strangers think I’m a [name_f]Celia[/name_f] rather than a [name_f]Zelia[/name_f], but mostly I get people mishearing it as [name_f]Xenia[/name_f]. Not a bad name at all but it’s not my name so that’s quite bothersome. I actually had a classmate who, for a year (!!!), thought I was [name_f]Xenia[/name_f] rather than [name_f]Zelia[/name_f].
I think it’s lovely, I would probably assume it was [name_f]Celia[/name_f] when first hearing it though. But I think [name_f]Celia[/name_f] is beautiful anyway.
I know a [name_f]Zelie[/name_f] pronounced ‘zay-lee’ which is nice too.
