I really love old fashioned girls names, like the really old ones. But a lot of times it seems when you pair two old lady names together, it just seems… boring? I adore [name_f]Harriet[/name_f], and I adore [name_f]Jane[/name_f], but [name_f]Harriet[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] feels bland to me.
I have a combo that I’m already in love with: [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]. I feel as if its a perfect mix of old and new with some form of connector to them? I’d like more combo’s like [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]. I have another combo on my list I love, [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f]. Not sure if thats exactly the same but I love the way it feels as well <3
Could you help me with a few names in particular?
Mabel
Phoebe
Elisabeth
Violetta
Eleanora
Gemma
I had combo’s for some of them before, but it felt boring. Like Mabel Caroline, or Phoebe Delilah. I like them… but don’t love them. Elisabeth Grier is an option though, I’d like to suggest that to my OH as an option if we ever have a daughter in the future. But I don’t feel like he’ll like Grier, so I’d still love other suggestions.
I’m not sure if I was clear enough in what I was trying to portray, maybe I want to spice my names up with an interesting name. I don’t want to mix any of the names I gave above, cause though I love them I feel as if they are bland when put together. I don’t care for any “dated” names as they feel even more boring.
I really loved [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] though! Those were on the right track!! A little different but not too different I guess I like nature names as well, being I have [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] on my list and [name_u]Juniper[/name_u] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f] are both plants lol. But if I could get more spunky suggestions like that it would be the best!!
I don’t see [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] as an “old fashioned” name. To me it is very hipster-trendy. I like it, but I wouldn’t call it old fashioned like [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] or [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]. The only old-fashioned names I see on your list are [name_f]Mabel[/name_f] & [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] (I view [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] as more latin sounding like [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] or something).
I see [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] as a “witchy” name (and I love it). [name_f]Maeve[/name_f] [name_f]Isobel[/name_f] are nice together.
I like [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] & [name_f]Violetta[/name_f] (You could perhaps use [name_f]Violetta[/name_f] [name_f]Maeve[/name_f]?)
Never been a fan of [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], forever it will make me think of “friends”.
And [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] is a porn-star name so I won’t encourage it.
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f] [name_f]Aria[/name_f] or [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f] [name_f]Valentina[/name_f] or [name_u]Sierra[/name_u]
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f] or [name_f]Athena[/name_f]
[name_f]Violetta[/name_f] [name_f]Honor[/name_f]
[name_f]Eleanora[/name_f] [name_u]Teagan[/name_u] or [name_u]Tatum[/name_u]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] [name_u]Lyric[/name_u]
[name_f]Alexandria[/name_f] (zandi) [name_u]June[/name_u]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_u]Ivory[/name_u](instead of ivy)
If you like [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f], either Libba or [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f] and or use those diminutives as nick names…
[name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_f]Aura[/name_f]/[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]/[name_f]Evie[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]/[name_f]Annie[/name_f]
[name_f]Heidi[/name_f]
[name_f]Jezebel[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]/[name_f]Coraline[/name_f]/[name_f]Coralyn[/name_f]-[name_f]Coral[/name_f]
[name_f]Camille[/name_f]/[name_f]Cami[/name_f]
[name_f]Augusta[/name_f]
[name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Melody[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvia[/name_f]/[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]
Hmm…
I absolutely love the vibe your going for. Harriet Jane does sound lovely actually but I understand that Harriet Jane doesn’t have the wow factor as lets say Harriet Juno for example. Clementine Zoe is beautiful, I love how she sounds and how she visually looks honesty Clementine Zoe is such a gorgeous combination!! I also find Maeve Isabel a lovely combination, she has a nice flow and I like how Maeve Isabel flows really well together its a pretty name but she doesn’t feel as wonderful as Clementine Zoe. Seriously I’m in love with this name. I get what you mean with my forever changing girl’s names with many of the combinations I like them but don’t love them. Mabel Caroline is a nice choice but I prefer Caroline Mabel I think the flow is prettier. Concerning Phoebe Delilah I’m totally unsure on the combination I do like the names but together the combination feels strange.
My thoughts on the combinations:
Mabel - Mabel is a lovely choice very wholesome and she has this really great southern feel. I really love this choice she feels so country!
Combinations:
Mabel Olivia
Mabel Alexandra
Mabel Junia
Phoebe - I adore this choice. I love the Greek mythology associations with the Goddess of the Moon, I love how light she feels. Phoebe is a great choice and has grown on me so much.
Combinations:
Phoebe Blake
Phoebe Susannah
Phoebe Rowan
Elisabeth - This name has grown on me so much I adore this spelling. I just feel this name is far softer compared to Elizabeth it’s almost like the ‘s’ in Elisabeth which looks really feminine and elegant. Elisabeth is lovely I also like the nickname ‘Lisa’ for her. Elisabeth is great.
Combinations:
Elisabeth Bianca
Elisabeth Grey
Elisabeth Zara
Violetta - Adorable, I love the how feminine feel of this choice. Violetta has this adorable Princess look. I also love the nickname Letty for Violetta. She’s a lovely name.
Combinations:
Violetta Noor
Violetta Ainsley
Violetta Brett
Eleanora - So elegant, pretty, and fresh. Eleanora has this lovely regal Nordic sound with a range of gorgeous nicknames such as Ella, Ellie, Noor, and Lena. Eleanora just feels brilliant. I love this name!
Combinations:
Eleanora Rebel
Eleanora Willow
Eleanora Loren
Gemma - Feels so over-used to my British ears.
Combinations:
Gemma Calliope
Gemma Scarlett
Gemma Josephine
Suggestions:
Olympia Bree
Edith Rosalie
Milena June
Persephone Alora/Elora
Aurelia Naomi
Calista Opal
Caroline Holiday
Colette Pearl
A friend whose first daughter’s name is [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] recently named her second daughter [name_f]Georgette[/name_f], which I think is very cute and zesty but still kind of old-fashioned.
