Zevi

Our twin boys are due in [name]November[/name] and we are narrowing down our name choices but nothing is really jumping out as perfect yet. My husband came across the name [name]Zevi[/name] and at first I thought it was a bit weird but now I actually really like it. What are your opinions on the name?

[name]How[/name] is it pronounced? Like [name]Levi[/name] with a Z? Or is it more like “Zevvy”? I like it on paper, just not sure how to say it!

I pronounce it ZEH-vee which is what the sources i’ve looked at say. I love [name]Zev[/name] by itself, [name]Zevi[/name] seems childish to me though. Maybe just [name]Zev[/name] with [name]Zevi[/name] as a nickname?

I second just [name]Zev[/name] which can transition better into an adult. I know an awesome musician that writes and performs children music in NY named [name]Zev[/name].

I like [name]Zev[/name]/Ze’ev, its a family name for me though so I’m biased.

It’s probably easier to deal with than [name]Zvi[/name]/Tzvi, another family name of mine.

I’d use [name]Zevi[/name] as a nickname for [name]Zev[/name] or [name]Zevulon[/name] before I’d use [name]Zevi[/name] outright. [name]Just[/name] my own taste. You might be coming at it from a totally different background or culture, but that’s what would appeal to me.
