Zoe Claire or Zoe Nicolette?

We definitely want to name our daughter [name_f]Zoe[/name_f], but can’t decide on a middle name.

my H likes the name [name_f]Claire[/name_f], but I think it sounds bad with a first name ending in E - it sounds like an éclair, like the pastry :stuck_out_tongue: . I like [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f], but my H thinks it sounds old-fashioned and dated.

We would both be grateful for your thoughts and opinions, if you wouldn’t mind sharing! :slight_smile:

I like [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]! Both are fun and sweet to me! [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f] reminds me of Nicorette Gum to help people stop smoking.

I prefer [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f]. This is a gorgeous combo, and unexpected. I like the longer [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f] with the short [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]. And I don’t think [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f] is dated or old-fashioned at all - in fact it’s fresh and delightful to me. I agree with you about [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] sounding like eclair, though they are both lovely names and it’s not terrible.

I like [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f]. I also hear eclair with [name_f]Claire[/name_f] in the middle and it is kind of a filler middle to me. [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Colette[/name_f] would also be cute.

I like [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f], [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is a bit plain compared to it. I like the idea of compromising with [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Colette[/name_f]. Btw, [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] is my best friend’s name & I love it!

aaah you guys, thank you so much for suggesting [name_f]Colette[/name_f]! idk why neither of us had thought of that, but we were reading the replies last night and both of us were like lightbulb moment yes! I was ready to suggest [name_m]Caelen[/name_m]/[name_m]Caelan[/name_m] as another possible middle name, but we both actually really like [name_f]Colette[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f], even though I’m sure it’s a far more common name. I’ve just never personally cared for [name_f]Nicolette[/name_f].

I’ve been looking for my own [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] combo lately, and have been tossing about [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f]/[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Eulalie[/name_f], and it never even occurred to me and I still don’t hear it! Then again, [name_f]Claire[/name_f] is a family name for me and one of my favorite names in the entire universe, so I snatch any chance to use [name_f]Claire[/name_f]! She’s gorgeous.
