I’ve absolutely fallen in love with the name [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f]–I think she’s my [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] combo!–but I’m trying to decide on a family name to pair with her. I’m a bit stumped, because a lot of the family names I love seem to be either short-and-sweet (and maybe a little filler, like [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], or [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]), and sort of seem like a let-down after [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], or happen to be a lot of noun names, which I find a bit overkill with [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], which is a nature name (I especially think my beloved floral and avian names should be out because of this, and birthstone honor names!). I could just use a second (or third?) pair of eyes on the combos I’m considering.
Are any of these any good? Or maybe an [name_f]Anne[/name_f]- variant, since it means the same thing as my grandma’s middle, but I wasn’t sure about [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f]/[name_f]Anna[/name_f]/[name_f]Anouk[/name_f], and anything much longer seems too much? I’m always open to any [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], [name_m]John[/name_m], [name_f]Natalie[/name_f], [name_f]Helen[/name_f], or [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] variants you think would fit well with [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f], as well!
I totally see what you mean about the second middle! There are a few combos I love on your list though:
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Johanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
I also really like [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Anouk[/name_f]!
Thanks, everyone! Yesterday I was almost convinced that [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] would be the combo, but as I let it marinate, it just didn’t feel like it was there quite yet, that it was missing that special something. I’ve been thinking about [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] a lot today, and am liking it quite a lot. [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_f]Giovanna[/name_f] are on my radar, as well, although I don’t know if I love them as much as [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Kate[/name_f]? In theory, I love [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] a LOT, because it could honor three family members in three very different ways, but I just don’t love it as much as some of the other options.
I feel like [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] perfectly encompasses the feeling and style of combo I’m really wanting for [name_f]Zoe[/name_f], but it doesn’t quite… click. I don’t know. I’m thinking about using [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] with my [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] combo instead ([name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Johanna[/name_f]). Maybe. lol.
[name_f]Elowen[/name_f] is pronounced el-LOH-wen right? It seems super rhymey with [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] with this pronunciation. I do adore both names though!
I like [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] the best. If you go with something like [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Giovanna[/name_f] it just seems overkill on the matching sounds. I think something crisp after [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] is necessary.
I think [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] is absolutely gorgeous. My first thought was [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] before I even looked at your list.
[name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is a very close second for me. I like [name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] in the second middle name spot as well.
I like [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] the best followed by [name_f]Helene[/name_f] and then [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. I like a short and sweet third name after [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f].
My favorite is [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f], but it sounds like it is not sparkling for you. I agree, my favorites by feel are [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Catalina[/name_f] and [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] [name_f]Johanna[/name_f], but they may not flow the best.
I know you are not looking for nature type middles, but maybe some of these suggestions will help inspire you? Sorry if some are way too out there. I can see why you are having a tough time with this combo - [name_f]Zoe[/name_f] [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] is so perfect already!
Thanks, everyone! I think I’m leaning most toward [name_f]Kate[/name_f], [name_f]Claire[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Giovanna[/name_f], and [name_f]Noelle[/name_f]. I think I’m going to try them all out in the next few days/weeks, and see which one sticks the most!
