Looking for advice from anyone who has taken Zofran while pregnant. I’ve read that it can lead to birth defects and many don’t reccomend it for pregnant women. However, morning sickness has been so bad that i ended up having to go get an IV for fluids and they have me Zofran for the nausea. I’ve taken it one more time in addition to get ahead of the nausea because i know dehydration will probably be worse. Has anyone taken this and has complications or spoken to their doctor about it?
If you were prescribed Zofran in hospital for your nausea, I think it’s safe to assume it’s okay to take during pregnancy.
I took it every day when I had my daughter 3 years ago. Now they changed their recommendation to only after the first trimester. They just want to be safe. If nothing else is working, and they told you to take the Zofran, then take it. My daughter is perfectly fine and healthy.
Took loads of Zofran during my most recent two pregnancies. [name_m]Zach[/name_m] and [name_m]George[/name_m] are (blessedly) very healthy and absolutely fine.
I took it with all three and all are healthy.
My midwife said it was a small study that showed issues while larger studies haven’t shown issues. Also since you’re only prescribed Zofran if you’re really sick many of the problems they’re claiming is from Zofran actually may be from malnutrition since you’re not keeping food down.
