Zosia

I’ve never met a [name_f]Zosia[/name_f] in real life and I’ve mostly only seen this name written. As a result, I’ve always pronounced this name “[name_m]Zo[/name_m]-sha” instead of “Zah-sha”. Is [name_m]Zo[/name_m]-sha totally wrong or is that an acceptable pronunciation of this name?

Editing to ask, would it be weird and/or inappropriate to use this name if my husband and I aren’t Polish?

As far as I know the name is said “zo-sha” at least that’s the way actress [name_f]Zosia[/name_f] Mamet pronounces it.

That’s my association with the name too and how I pronounce it but I believe I’ve also heard zo-see-ah. I think it’s fine for anyone to use!

I agree with PP’s.

I’ve heard it pronounced [name_m]Zo[/name_m]-shuh

I’ve only ever heard [name_m]Zo[/name_m]-sha - it’s a stunning name!

I saw it as zoh-see-ah, but zo-sha is a lot cuter!

I’ve always heard [name_f]Zosia[/name_f] Mamet pronounce her name “zah-sha” which is what confused me in the first place. But I prefer [name_m]Zo[/name_m]-sha so I’m glad it’s an accepted pronouciation!
