12 days to go and dam you Jessica Simpson

I just want to back up everyone else, use [name]Maxwell[/name]. It’s a handsome and cool name for a BOY!

My little boy, born 4/13, is named [name]Maxwell[/name]. I am annoyed at [name]Simpson[/name]'s choice, but I think [name]Maxwell[/name] will be safe for boys for a while. Can’t imagine my guy with another name, anyway

[name]Maxwell[/name] is a great name, oh-so-charming and handsome!

use maxwell. It’s a boys name.

I disagree with the pp and not out of immature motive. Celebrity names push names very high up on the charts quite rapidly as opposed to 15 years ago. In the grand scheme of things, your [name]Maxwell[/name] would be well ahead of the possible [name]Maxwell[/name]-for-a-girl curve. But, you are smart to think that far ahead. While I agree that [name]Maxwell[/name] has a strong footing as a boy name, you will very possibly see within 3-5 yrs, it viewed as a [name]Taylor[/name]-[name]Morgan[/name]-[name]Peyton[/name] type name. [name]Jessica[/name] [name]Simpson[/name] may not impress fellow Nameberries (nor does she for me), but her baby bump has been followed as closely if not more closely than any in recent history.

I said all of that to say- I understand your misgivings now. If you love the SOUND of the name, by all means, use it. IT IS a surname after all, and truly fair game for all. Loving the name should be top priority. On the flip side, I would personally find it hard to love the name as much now, given the amount of attention it is receiving  The very first name that came to mind for you is [name]MARSHALL[/name]! So close to your beloved [name]Maxwell[/name] and great with [name]Barron[/name]!!!

Other names you might like with [name]Barron[/name]- [name]Damien[/name] [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Fletcher[/name] [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Parker[/name] [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Carter[/name] [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Theodore[/name] [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Dorian[/name] [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Lennon[/name] [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Lawson[/name] [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Walker[/name] [name]Joseph[/name]

Or you could just change it to [name]Maximilian[/name].

[name]Jessica[/name] [name]Simpson[/name] hasn’t been relevant in years. When was the last time she made a record that sold? Use [name]Maxwell[/name] - or change it to [name]Maximilian[/name], as jessicat11 suggested.

I don’t think JS using [name]Maxwell[/name] for her girl puts it out of the equation.
[name]Maxwell[/name] will continue to be a strong boys name I think. If you like [name]Maxwell[/name] how about [name]Maximilian[/name], [name]Maximus[/name] or [name]Maxim[/name]. Or even just [name]Max[/name]!

I posted above but would like to reiterate [name]Jessica[/name] [name]Simpson[/name]'s relevance (and this is NOT to say I’m a fan, by any means). I follow celebrities just enough to know how they will affect a certain name; the point is that media exposure IS the driving force behind the majority of names: She IS on a current television show- a virtual bomb when it comes to naming- where she plays HERSELF (reality TV) - so she will have many opportunities to mention [name]Maxwell[/name]. She has a billion dollar clothing line. It has been written in all seriousness, recently, that she is dressing [name]America[/name]…whether we Nameberries relate or not. She has just announced that she is adding a maternity line next because she learned so much about pregnancy fashion. [name]Add[/name] to that, [name]Maxwell[/name] and [name]Drew[/name] ARE surnames and she used them as such, something extremely common here in the South US, giving some credibility/weight to either as a choice for a girl, when ppl begin to toss them around. Reconsidering (at the very least) the name [name]Maxwell[/name] is a smart move by the OP. Loving the name is important on my own name usage scale, but popularity and exposure is the make-or-break factor. [name]Maxwell[/name] would be out, for me…

I think it would be silly to ditch a name that you love because a celebrity used it…

why does it matter what js named her child again? i say maxwell is the keeper
