Posting a list for each letter of the alphabet, a new letter each day. The names are mostly inspired by surnames used as the first name. There may be many names that begin with this letter, but the names on these lists are more uncommon boy names that begin with it. Uncommon but not terribly unrealistic; sophisticated and somewhat original, but still useable. Some can be spelled in different ways but I am not including all of the spellings. Some may not be that unique necessarily, but still feel worthy enough to me to make the list. And, I don’t necessarily LOVE all the names on the list but know others might so have included them.
The idea of these lists are to help others as they try to come up with name ideas for their child, or just for fun and the challenge of it. If Berries want, you can make a game of it and answer the questions below. Thank you!
Which names stand out to you from today’s list?
Which name, if any, might you choose for your child/ren?
Do you have any names that you feel could be added to today’s list?

Stand outs for today: [name_m]Oaks[/name_m], [name_u]Oakland[/name_u], [name_m]Oisin[/name_m], [name_u]Oleander[/name_u], [name_u]Orion[/name_u], [name_m]Orwell[/name_m], [name_m]Orson[/name_m], [name_m]Oslo[/name_m], [name_m]Osiris[/name_m], [name_m]Otto[/name_m], [name_m]Otis[/name_m], and [name_u]Ozzy[/name_u]. Kind of think [name_m]Oxford[/name_m] would be cool too.
I would use [name_m]Otto[/name_m] - maybe [name_m]Orson[/name_m], [name_u]Oakland[/name_u], [name_u]Orion[/name_u] and [name_u]Oleander[/name_u]
It’s such a nice sounding name, and he is a really noble and interesting character - but also very tragic and mistreated, and ultimately a murderer so I think it would be tricky to use!
A quick comment to add about Othello: where I live there is a notable nonprofit director working in community revitalization with the first name Othello.
I can see how the name is controversial, but I don’t think it’s unusable?
