I am 14 weeks pregnant and I get my going back and forth with names out of the way in time, usually, to relax at the end. But I start from before I am even pregnant with “names I am definitely going to use!” and part way through, I second guess them. I feel like we have intuition as to what their name should be vs what we think, before they are coming, is best. Also, where we love names, we tend to realize how important they are whereas we see many others who seem to have no idea what they have done to a child. (Let’s be real, some names are absolutely thoughtless!)
[name_f]Ayla[/name_f] is more along my personal taste, but I can understand why it would seem incomplete since so many names end in that sound. I personally think it holds its own. [name_u]Sierra[/name_u] is not my style, though there’s nothing wrong with it.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you like [name_f]Lilah[/name_f]?
If only you lived somewhere that Gaelic names were easily pronounced! My name is [name_f]Eilidh[/name_f] (pronounced like Ay-lee), so naturally I love [name_f]Ayla[/name_f]. I think it stands on its own quite well, but, again, it’s similar to my name so naturally I’d feel that way.
I personally like [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] better. It is softer imo. [name_u]Sierra[/name_u] sounds harsh to my ears. However I love the middle name primrose. [name_f]Ayla[/name_f] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] is gorgeous.
Thank you all for your input. Tomorrow I’m officially 41 weeks and still no baby. I’ll update you all what baby is and what the name ends up being. I think we are just going to wait and meet baby to choose a girl name IF this baby is even a girl. If not [name_m]Lincoln[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u] it is!
Okay so our baby was born 11 days late on Septmeber 17th and it was a GIRL!!!
We ended up naming her [name_u]Sierra[/name_u] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] ”
It was such a TOUGH decision. And we did have that hospital experience that I didn’t want going back and forth on the name and even almost changing it AS the birth certificate papers were being drawn up.
