Nearly two weeks ago, big siblings R.e.u.b.e.n. F.i.n.c.h. and Z.i.v.a. E.v.r.e.n welcomed little sister M.i.r.i J.u.n.i.p.e.r! They are absolutely thrilled to have another sibling, and I wonder if having a third might lessen the sibling rivalry (any moms of 3 to comment on this? :D)
A little explanation of our children’s names:
- Reu.ben is an honor name for many Bens in my lineage, and Fin.ch is for me, a lawyer, after Atticus Finch.
- Zi.va is after the NCIS character, who I love, and Ev.ren means the universe, which is apropos for my husband, a NASA scientist
- Mi.ri is a tribute to a number of things, from Star Trek to the mid-infared instrument, and Jun.iper is a smush of a lot of names in my close family.
- We’re both Jewish and that’s why we love names with Hebrew roots (as you can tell).
We’ve been playing with a lot of names over the years, from Zorah to Ezra to Ronja, but in the end we just went with our gut, and it seems to have turned out well enough.
I know this is my first time posting, but I’ve been reading Nameberry posts for years, so I wanted to thank all the Berries for being fantastic inspirations.
