I am starting to feel that we are getting closer to this baby coming without having a name. We have a boy named [name]Cael[/name] at home. We have a niece with nn “[name]El[/name],” so can’t do any [name]Ella[/name], [name]Ellie[/name], Etc.
I really need some girl name ideas that are somewhat unique like [name]Cael[/name], but not too different or wierd
Some things I like:
[name]Callie[/name] - decided this is [name]WAY[/name] to close to [name]Cael[/name], so won’t be using it.
[name]Cambrie[/name] - can’t decide if I like, and have been hearing a lot of negative feedback from naming sites.
[name]Maia[/name] ([name]Mya[/name]) - don’t know about spelling, and slightly more common than i’d like?
[name]Avery[/name] - just added this one to my list
Middle name will most likely be [name]Kalynn[/name] (not sure how to spell this, don’t want too many “Y’s”, but it will be a comination of both Grandma’s: “[name]Kay[/name]” & “[name]Lynn[/name]”
*Husband would rather not use all the same letters for each child “C”, but if its something we both like then he said he would be ok with it.
I absolutely love the name [name]Christmas[/name]. It’s unique and unfortunately it wouldn’t work for the family I’m building but I think it’ll work for yours. [name]Hope[/name] it isn’t TOO out there for u
Starting off with your middle name a traditional Irish spelling of [name]Kay[/name] and [name]Lynn[/name] would be [name]Cailin[/name] - similar to [name]Caitlin[/name] but minus the t! I really like that version rather than [name]Kalynn[/name] but then I’m not a big fan of K names in general, something about them shouts trendy at me wheras C names seem rather more sophisticated. Also that way you can have a C name but use it in the middle instead which is much less ‘matchy’
First name ideas
[name]Callie[/name] - pretty, very sweet but I agree very close to your sons name. Would make a cute nn if you borrowed from her middle name [name]Kalynn[/name]/[name]Cailin[/name]
[name]Cambrie[/name] - not sure how to pronounce this?
[name]Maia[/name] - Also pretty, various ways to spell it though
[name]Avery[/name] - I’m not a fan of many of these kinds of names as they sound made up to me, perhaps also because they are becoming more popular. Sounds like somewhere a bird lives?
other ideas for you based on what you already like
Since I know a [name]Kaly[/name] “cal-ee”, [name]Kalynn[/name] looks like “cal-lyn” to me. [name]Kaelyn[/name], [name]Kailynn[/name], [name]Kaylen[/name] are options
[name]Callie[/name]- Because of brother’s name and the mn, I think [name]Cal[/name]- names are out
[name]Cambrie[/name]- Sounds incomplete, what about [name]Cambria[/name]? [name]Camilla[/name], [name]Clara[/name], [name]Carys[/name], [name]Cassia[/name], [name]Bree[/name], [name]Bria[/name], [name]Britta[/name], [name]Brielle[/name], [name]Brenna[/name]/[name]Brynna[/name]
[name]Maia[/name]- Maebry/[name]Mabry[/name], [name]Malia[/name], [name]Minka[/name], [name]Mina[/name]/[name]Meena[/name], [name]Mari[/name], [name]Maren[/name], [name]Marissa[/name], [name]Marta[/name]
[name]Ava[/name]- [name]Ada[/name]/[name]Adah[/name], [name]Abra[/name]/[name]Aubra[/name], [name]Audra[/name], [name]Adaire[/name], [name]Ayla[/name], [name]Asha[/name], [name]Alda[/name], [name]Alva[/name], [name]Alma[/name], [name]Anya[/name], [name]Ardis[/name], [name]Arden[/name], [name]Aria[/name]/[name]Arya[/name]
[name]Kalynn[/name] looks like “cal-lyn” to me, too. I have a friend who spells her name [name]Kaylin[/name]. I think it’s cleanest (not too many Ys!) and most straightforward.
I think [name]Cael[/name] and [name]Avery[/name] or [name]Cael[/name] and [name]Maia[/name] (I’d probably go with [name]Maya[/name], though) are best together. Between the two, I prefer [name]Maya[/name] because [name]Avery[/name] sounds a little more masculine than [name]Cael[/name] to me. [name]Both[/name] of those girl names sound nice with [name]Kaylin[/name], though! Since her brother’s name and her middle name already start with a hard K sounds, I’d probably steer away from C and K names. Here are a couple other ideas that sound great with [name]Cael[/name]:
[name]Aubrey[/name] [name]Kaylin[/name]
[name]Dahlia[/name] [name]Kaylin[/name]
[name]Stella[/name] [name]Kaylin[/name]
[name]Gemma[/name] [name]Kaylin[/name]
[name]Juniper[/name] [name]Kaylin[/name]
[name]Mila[/name] [name]Kaylin[/name] - maybe less popular than [name]Maia[/name]/[name]Maya[/name]? [name]Cael[/name] and [name]Mila[/name] are sweet.
[name]Embry[/name] [name]Kaylin[/name]
[name]Amari[/name] [name]Kaylin[/name] - little similar to [name]Avery[/name] and [name]Maya[/name]?
[name]Juno[/name] [name]Kaylin[/name]
[name]Amalia[/name] [name]Kaylin[/name] - has some of the same sounds as [name]Maya[/name]
[name]River[/name] [name]Kaylin[/name]
[name]Harper[/name] [name]Kaylin[/name]
[name]Maret[/name]/[name]Marit[/name] [name]Kaylin[/name]
[name]How[/name] about [name]Cameo[/name]? Like the jewelery. I think it just might fit your style!
[name]Cameo[/name] [name]Jade[/name]
[name]Cameo[/name] [name]Pearl[/name]
[name]Cameo[/name] [name]Paige[/name]
[name]Cameo[/name] [name]Belle[/name]
And on the spelling for your chosen middle name, I like [name]Kaylin[/name]. It has one Y and doesn’t have any double N’s, which I think are just an extension of a name that doesn’t really require it.
To me, [name]Cael[/name] is SUCH an Irish name. Are you interested in sticking with an Irish theme? If so, some names to consider:
[name]Ashling[/name]
[name]Cassidy[/name]
[name]Darcy[/name]
[name]Fianna[/name]
[name]Iona[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Nessa[/name]
[name]Neve[/name]
[name]Nora[/name]
[name]Nuala[/name]
[name]Una[/name]
[name]Orla[/name]
[name]Saoirse[/name]
[name]Sinead[/name]
[name]Shea[/name]
[name]Sorcha[/name]
Thanks Everyone! This post has really given me a lot more options to choose from. I really appreciate all of the comments This is such a great site, and I really enjoy getting opinions from others!
I am loving the spelling [name]Kaylin[/name], because I always thought putting 2 N’s was too much, and I really did not want 2 Y’s.
I’ve also found a lot of first names from this thread that I really love. Thank you so much, it is greatly appreciated!
