I would really appreciate some thoughts and opinions. I am getting very close to my due date and team green. My DH and I have agreed to a girl’s name but still haven’t landed on a boy’s name. The top two names we have for a boy are [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] and [name_m]Felipe[/name_m]. Any preference and why? Thanks in advance!
I think [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is the clear winner. It is phonetically simple, masculine and strong. I love this choice. [name_m]Felipe[/name_m] does not appeal to me as much due to the sound on my ear (very subjective, of course) and pronunciation issues. [name_m]Felipe[/name_m] lacks “manliness” to me.

[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] doesn’t have the best sound, imo, but I have a pretty positive outlook on the name in general.
As for [name_m]Felipe[/name_m], I actually do like the name…but I prefer [name_m]Philippe[/name_m], [name_m]Felipe[/name_m] looks funny to me.
I agree, I like [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] a lot.
My first thought with [name_m]Felipe[/name_m] is the horse from Beauty and the Beast, lol
[name_f]Do[/name_f] you live in a [name_m]French[/name_m] speaking country?
[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is debonair with a dash of spunk and a lot of Continental flair thrown in. The Spanish [name_m]Felipe[/name_m] is ok but it doesn’t excite me. This name may be mispronounced if you don’t live in an Hispanic area.

Other top names we were floating around include [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] and [name_m]Victor[/name_m] (but I am not a fan of the nn [name_u]Sam[/name_u] or [name_u]Vic[/name_u]). I like [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], [name_m]Aldo[/name_m], [name_u]Theo[/name_u], and [name_u]Rio[/name_u] but my DH vetoed those for various reasons.
[name_f]Do[/name_f] people still like [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] when it’s up against [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] or [name_m]Victor[/name_m]? And does sibset factor in? Appreciated.
I like [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] best of your choices, tho [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] and [name_m]Victor[/name_m] are nice names. I think [name_f]Carmela[/name_f] & [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] sound great together. [name_m]Hector[/name_m] and [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] just don’t flow with our surname. There is a [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] in the family so [name_m]Mateo[/name_m] is unfortunately out. [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m]/[name_m]Enzo[/name_m] was on my list much earlier during the pregnancy - I may try bringing that one back to my DH just to see…

Oh, I love girls names ending in “a” with a boys name ending in “o”. It’s [name_f]Carmela[/name_f] and [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] all the way! They look and sound so good together! 
Next choice is [name_m]Victor[/name_m]. If you don’t like [name_u]Vic[/name_u] for a nn do you like [name_m]Vito[/name_m]?

I am personally not a fan of [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] or [name_m]Samuel[/name_m]. I like [name_m]Felipe[/name_m], [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] and [name_m]Victor[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Lorenzo[/name_m] is my favorite. I also think [name_m]Enrique[/name_m], [name_m]Alonso[/name_m], and [name_m]Sergio[/name_m].
I was prepared to say [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], but after seeing [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], I’m not so sure! I adore [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] and I think [name_f]Carmela[/name_f] and [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] are adorable. Then again, I like the idea of [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] or [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m], if you don’t have a combo picked yet. I think either [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] (which would avoid [name_u]Sam[/name_u]) or [name_m]Samuel[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] would be fab with [name_f]Carmela[/name_f].
