39+ weeks and still can't decide!

I posted on here earlier in the pregnancy when I was getting some ideas. We are expecting our first girl. (Big brothers are [name]Wesley[/name] [name]Eugene[/name] and [name]Dexter[/name] [name]Charles[/name].) I will settle on a name for awhile but keep changing my mind. DH keeps doing the same. I thought we were pretty set on [name]Beatrix[/name] but yesterday he said he hates [name]Trixie[/name] and is afraid she will get called that. Trying to decide if [name]Beatriz[/name] is a good alternative. Leaning towards [name]Esther[/name] as a mn as it’s a family name and I like the Biblical story.

I tend to like less popular (not in the top 100 in recent years) but somewhat recognizable names. I have an unusual name and while I love that I never knew anyone with the same name growing up, spelling it and pronouncing it all the time did get tedious. Trying to hit that “not trendy but not too out there” sweet spot, like so many others.

Our short list:
[name]Vera[/name] (sounds a little too plain compared the the sib names? but it’s pretty)
[name]Beatrix[/name] (love the nn [name]Bea[/name] and probably matches the sib names the best, but [name]Trixie[/name] is out and I’m wondering if everyone could get it confused with [name]Beatrice[/name])
[name]Sylvia[/name] (like nn [name]Sylvie[/name], but wondering if it’s going suddenly get popular due to it’s similarity to [name]Sophia[/name] and the other old fashioned names seeing a resurgence in recent years)

Opinions? Suggestions?

First name that crossed my mind was [name]Eulalia[/name] [name]Beatrix[/name] - got a bit of the “eu” like [name]Eugene[/name] and the “x” like [name]Dexter[/name]!
I love [name]Sylvie[/name] as well and [name]Esther[/name] is a pretty middle name.
[name]Audrey[/name] [name]Esther[/name]
[name]Cecilia[/name] [name]Esther[/name]
[name]Valerie[/name] [name]Esther[/name]
[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]Esther[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name] [name]Esther[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name] [name]Esther[/name]
[name]Camille[/name] [name]Esther[/name]
[name]Adele[/name] [name]Esther[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name] [name]Esther[/name]

I like [name]Vera[/name] a lot. If you’re worried that it’s too short, how about [name]Verity[/name]? [name]Verity[/name] is such an edgy yet beautiful name. [name]Sylvia[/name] is also pretty. I’m not very fond of the [name]Beatrix[/name]/[name]Beatrice[/name] names, sorry. [name]Lucinda[/name], [name]Elodie[/name], or [name]Aveline[/name], perhaps? I’m sure you’ll find something great! Good luck:)

I think [name]Vera[/name] sounds like an old lady. [name]Beatrix[/name] is nice but I think it would get confused with [name]Beatrice[/name]. I love [name]Sylvia[/name] nn [name]Sylvie[/name]; I don’t think you have to worry about it getting too popular.

I would suggest [name]Beatrice[/name]. [name]Love[/name] it but not a [name]Beatrix[/name] fan. I also think [name]Sylvia[/name] is pretty, but is not a name I would personally choose. [name]How[/name] about [name]Cecily[/name] instead?

I think [name]Wesley[/name], [name]Dexter[/name] and [name]Sylvia[/name] would make an awesome trio of siblings.

I would call her [name]Beatrix[/name] since you & DH both love it & just be sure to call her by nn [name]Bea[/name] in front of those who meet her. (And correct them if they dare to call her [name]Trixie[/name]). I myself love the name, although I prefer the French [name]Beatrice[/name] spelling.
