3rd Baby Girl to Lucy & Anna

[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I have two daughters and currently having the great “Are we done or having one more?” debate! [name_u]Love[/name_u] dreaming of this potential third child’s name, if we are fortunate to have him/her.

Our daughters’ names are [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] [name_f]Sue[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Jean[/name_u]. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] goes by just [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] or sometimes [name_f]Lulu[/name_f]. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] goes by both [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Annie[/name_f]. To be honest, I really struggled with naming my second [name_f]Anna[/name_f] vs. [name_f]Annie[/name_f] - it was an exasperated decision made at the hospital. She is a baby so yet to see what name sticks!

With this sibset, what would you name a third girl? I think we have a boys’ name set with honor names. I do like the two-syllable first with one-syllable middle pattern but not an absolute must to follow. We have a long last name and the short names flow better.

[name_f]My[/name_f] style is vintage, classic, slightly nicknamey. Some names I love are [name_u]June[/name_u], [name_f]Eliza[/name_f], [name_f]Edie[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]. Some potential honor names and their variations to use are [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Catherine[/name_f].

Would love to hear your thoughts and get new ideas! Thank you!

Well what initially came to mind was [name_f]Belle[/name_f] but then a saw you wanted two syllables so I thought of [name_u]Marie[/name_u] and [name_u]Josie[/name_u] and both of those work well with [name_f]Belle[/name_f] as a middle name! I think I like [name_u]Josie[/name_u] [name_f]Belle[/name_f] slightly more

[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] is my favorite from your short list. I think [name_f]Beth[/name_f], [name_f]Elle[/name_f], or [name_f]Kate[/name_f] would be great ways to honor [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] to keep the one-syllable middle name.

So I am assuming great you want to keep the 4 letter 2 syllables first name and the 1 syllable middle name? You already have a C and an NA sounding to the end of the first names.

So what about:

[name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Mara[/name_f]
[name_f]Maia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Cara[/name_f]

I like [name_u]June[/name_u] quite a bit. I suggest [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Martha[/name_f] since it seems along the same style. [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] could be cute.

From the honor names you can get

[name_f]Betsy[/name_f]
[name_u]Lisa[/name_u]

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.

[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] & [name_f]Anna[/name_f] are just lovely. I think that [name_u]June[/name_u] or [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] would be a really nice fit. [name_u]June[/name_u] being my preference. A little [name_f]Junie[/name_f] would be super cute. [name_f]Edie[/name_f] is too nick-namey on its own in my opinion. [name_f]Edith[/name_f] would be quite nice though. I really like [name_u]Eden[/name_u] or [name_f]Eudora[/name_f] as [name_f]Edie[/name_f] names too, but [name_f]Edith[/name_f] seems like the best match w/big sisters’ names. I love [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], but it kind of has the nn [name_f]Lulu[/name_f], so it feels too close to [name_f]Lucy[/name_f].

A few other ideas…

[name_f]Bridget[/name_f]

[name_f]Cora[/name_f]

[name_f]Clara[/name_f]

[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]

[name_f]Eliza[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f]
[name_f]Eloise[/name_f] [name_f]Cate[/name_f]

I wouldn’t limit yourself to just two syllable first names. I even LIKE breaking the pattern. [name_m]Just[/name_m] even it out, if it is a one syllable first name pair it with a multi syllable middle name. I try to aim for total number of syllables for each name to be about equal. When you read all three names, I think you will agree they flow well together.

I prefer breaking pattern over having two names begin or end the same way and leave one name out. In other words……my focus is to find names that do not repeat beginning letters or sounds, or ending sounds.

We have an [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and our second daughter was almost [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]! We had a hard time deciding on [name_f]Clara[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] vs [name_f]Olive[/name_f] but went with [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. Maybe you’d like [name_f]Clara[/name_f] or [name_f]Olive[/name_f]!

I think [name_f]Cate[/name_f] (after Catherine) would fit in well with [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] & [name_f]Anna[/name_f]! I also quite like [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] or [name_f]Beth[/name_f] with them (after Elizabeth).

Other names I’d suggest based on your style:
