[name_m]Hi[/name_m] all, I’m looking for girl name ideas please, this is my 3rd girl so finding it tricky! [name_f]My[/name_f] current girls are [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] and [name_f]Alara[/name_f], both names have water related myths, [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] sea siren, [name_f]Alara[/name_f] Turkish water fairy myth. [name_m]Not[/name_m] set on it having a water theme again but a nice meaning or good myth to go with it would be great
[name_f][/name_f] Also to be annoying it can’t end in an n sound because of our surname it doesn’t work! Thanks x
Well, if you did want the water theme, the first name that comes to mind is Morgana.
Water theme aside, I have always thought that the mythos of Atalanta was a very strong one. Plus, the nickname Tala is beautiful.
Lorelei and Alara are so lovely together, by the way.
Your daughters have enchanting names!
Some names that could complement Lorelei & Alara:
Freya
Bryony
Tallulah*
Ophelia
Odessa*
Paloma
Calista
Rosalie
Cressida
Magnolia
Isadora
Xanthe
Calypso*
Cordelia*
Maribel*
Guinevere
Seraphina
Sabina / Sabrina*
Jemima (if OK to use)
And I like the suggestion of Morgana.*
I think it’s nice if they have their own starting letter so haven’t included any L or A names. Many of these - certainly the starred ones - have a water theme, all have that at least somewhat ethereal quality to match the magical feel of your other two. ![]()
Thank you so much!

Also agree that Morgana and Odessa work really well!
Some names with water meanings:
Maris - “of the sea”
Kaia - “sea”
Malia - “gentle waters”
Cordelia - “daughter of the sea”
Kailani - “sea and sky”
Nerida / Nerissa - “sea nymph”
Amphitrite - Queen of the sea, wife of Poseidon
Thalassa - Greek personification of the sea
Halia - a Sea nymph, means “of the sea”
Rhea - Titan + river name
Isla - island/water association
[name_m]Oh[/name_m]! Seconding the suggestions of [name_f]Odessa[/name_f] and [name_f]Nerissa[/name_f]! Those are goregous, thematic and would be lovely with [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] and [name_f]Alara[/name_f]. Stunning.
[name_f][/name_f]I hope you find what you are looking for!
Thank you!
You’ve had some great suggestions already, I especially like [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f], [name_f]Odessa[/name_f], [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f], [name_f]Maribel[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f], Nerida/Nerissa. I like the idea of them all having different ending sounds.
[name_f][/name_f]I’d add…
[name_f][/name_f]Sireia
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Esmeray[/name_f]

[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Marisol[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Savani[/name_f]
Thank you. I really like [name_f]Sereia[/name_f] Portuguese for mermaid but worry that no one will know how to pronounce it, we have a lot of trouble with [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], she gets all sorts!
How about [name_f]Sirena[/name_f] or [name_f]Serena[/name_f] instead?
[name_f]Nixie[/name_f] are Germanic river spirits/nymphs
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Thetis[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Marinell[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Marisol[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Nimue[/name_f] (one of the names ascribed to the lady of the lake in the Arthurian legend)
[name_f][/name_f][name_f]Nairne[/name_f]
[name_f][/name_f]Hopefully these help! ![]()
Ooh [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] and [name_f]Alara[/name_f] are gorgeous together!

Thanks! Alaras middle name is [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] ![]()
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] and [name_f]Alara[/name_f] are beautiful names, and what a fun connection to water related myths! [name_f][/name_f] [name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_f]Sirena[/name_f] (though [name_f]Serena[/name_f] would perhaps be easier to live with) [name_f][/name_f]- tied to the sirens in Greek mythology! [name_f][/name_f] I am not hugely familiar with mythology in general, so I’ll mostly defer to the better qualified berries on this one, but loved the idea of [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f], [name_f]Alara[/name_f], and [name_f]Sirena[/name_f], so I wanted to share.
[name_f][/name_f]All the best!
I love their names.
