I just found out today baby number 5 is also baby GIRL number 5. Now begins the torture of coming up with another name!
Our other girls are [name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Elaine[/name_f], [name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Marie[/name_f], [name_f]Julia[/name_f] [name_u]Clare[/name_u], and [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. [name_m]New[/name_m] baby’s name can not be any of the other girls’ middle names or any variations of them. Our last name is [name_u]Marti[/name_u], pronounced like the boy name.
The middle name, we are 99.9% sure it will be [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], a family name but we don’t want to use it for a first. Generally I love feminine names that end in ‘a’ but very few do I like paired with [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], its too much of a mouthful, the double ‘a’ ending. (There are a few exceptions)
Also, I’m not crazy about alliteration, I think most M names sound silly with our last name.
So far our list:
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] ([name_f]Eva[/name_f] or [name_f]Evie[/name_f] for short)
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] ([name_f]Lilly[/name_f] for short)
[name_f]Ella[/name_f] (hesitate because of popularity and are siblings [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] too similar?)
Names that I love but don’t like with [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]:
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Isla[/name_f]
So far there is no “That’s it!” so we’re still scouring for more ideas. Help please!
Your daughters names are beautiful!
[name_f]My[/name_f] first thought was [name_f]Catherine[/name_f].
Maybe [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nn [name_f]Nora[/name_f] or [name_f]Ellie[/name_f]?
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] would be beautiful!
Good luck!
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f] is my favorite from your list. I also like [name_f]Nora[/name_f] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f], but agree that they don’t work as well with [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]. I like the pp suggestion of [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] nn [name_f]Nora[/name_f].
Thank you! I should add, [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] (well, [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f]) is my name so its out cause I don’t want to name the baby after me. But if it wasn’t my name, I’d agree that it would fit very nicely!
Also on the out list because of nieces or close in age cousins already with the name are: [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] ([name_f]Ellie[/name_f]), [name_f]Sophia[/name_f], [name_f]Megan[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f] (big family, lots of girls so its getting tricky!)
I LOVELOVELOVE ALL your daughters names! They’re beautiful! I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the name [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] it’s too bad you like [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] as a MN cause I think [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] [name_u]Lynn[/name_u] [name_u]Marti[/name_u] would sound so beautiful! It goes with the pretty “classic” theme of your names of the girls. I also love the idea of [name_f]Lillian[/name_f]! I have a friend who just named her daughter Lillain [name_f]Joy[/name_f]… Which I also think would go great with your last name… But I’m also biased. (: Here’s some ideas I came up with though.
I love [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] (that was going to be what I was going to suggest). I also love love love [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] and [name_f]Agnes[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Ella[/name_f] is a bit close to [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] and a bit too popular. You have a lovely naming style.
[name_f]Agnes[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Ella[/name_f], [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Lila[/name_f], [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f] are equally lovely names, but a tad too vintage for your sibset.
[name_f]Isla[/name_f] is also lovely and a sufficient match, but there may be even better matches :).
Your daughters have beautiful names. I like the idea of [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lily[/name_f], but does your daughter [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] go by a nn like [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f]?
[name_f]Audra[/name_f] [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]
[name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] (I agree with others, it sounds so pretty!)
[name_f]Paige[/name_f] [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]/[name_u]Vivian[/name_u]/[name_u]Vivien[/name_u] [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]
I like [name_f]Agnes[/name_f] [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] from your list.
[name_f]Ines[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f] - I second this
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] - I second this too
[name_f]Cecily[/name_f]
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f]
Thanks! So far, none of the traditional [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] nns have stuck. We call her Bitsy at home but we’ll see what she likes when she’s older. (she’s just 20 months now)
I love [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f], they seem like clear choices. [name_f]Lillian[/name_f] sounds great with [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], but I like [name_f]Nora[/name_f] slightly more because it seem to bridge the gap between shorter [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and longer [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] very well. I actually like the sound of [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] quite a bit; since they have a different number of syllables, the combination doesn’t sound off.
