5 weeks to go. Opinions and suggestions please. :)

Heya!
Sigh…

[name]Ever[/name] since the start of the pregnancy my partner and I have had trouble finding a name for our second daughter. There has been a shortlist, there has been names but unluckily not much progress. We ‘like’ the names, but we don’t ‘love’ them either. Its sort of panic now really, when we were expecting our first, [name]Eleanor[/name] her name had been decided a long time before the pregnancy when we dating. We absolutely loved, loved, loved her name it had spunk, and elegance all wrapped up in one humble bundle. Yet we’re not feeling it this time, and we really don’t want to pick the name that is ‘meh, will do.’

If this baby had been a boy we would have named him [name]Seth[/name], so we’re also working towards a name that fits with that and [name]Eleanor[/name], because who knows they might have a baby brother one day.

Here is our shortlist so far:

[name]Maggie[/name]
[name]Louisa[/name]
[name]Cecily[/name]
[name]Thalia[/name]

Would love to hear from you. Thanks!

Here are my thoughts:

[name]Maggie[/name] - Goes well with [name]Eleanor[/name], but I’d go with [name]Margaret[/name] nn [name]Maggie[/name]. Goes well with [name]Eleanor[/name], maybe together they’d be a bit old fashioned with [name]Seth[/name].

[name]Louisa[/name] - Honestly, not my favorite name inherently, but it does go quite well with [name]Eleanor[/name]. [name]Lou[/name] and [name]Lulu[/name] are cute potential nicknames.

[name]Cecily[/name] - this is my fav out of your list. Classic, but unusual enough to be modern. [name]Eleanor[/name] & [name]Maggie[/name] or [name]Eleanor[/name] & [name]Louisa[/name] are both two old fashioned combos. [name]Eleanor[/name] & [name]Cecily[/name] is old fashioned but with a more unusual twist.

[name]Thalia[/name] - I like this name, but it doesn’t go with [name]Eleanor[/name] or [name]Seth[/name] at all, [name]IMO[/name].

Good luck!!

I like [name]Maggie[/name] and [name]Louisa[/name] from your shortlist.

If you like [name]Cecily[/name], how about [name]Thessaly[/name]? I think it goes well with [name]Eleanor[/name]. Could have nn [name]Tessa[/name].

I have a little [name]Eleanor[/name] as well :)!
From your list, I think that [name]Cecily[/name] definitely fits best with [name]Eleanor[/name]. It’s lovely and antique, but still spunky enough to fit a young girl or woman today.

Some more suggestions (that we are possibly considering, too  ):
[name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Harriet[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Lucille[/name]
[name]Beatrice[/name]
[name]Lillian[/name]
[name]Ophelia[/name]
[name]Marianne[/name]
[name]Tallulah[/name]

from your list I think [name]Cecily[/name] and [name]Maggie[/name] sound the best with [name]Eleanor[/name]. Also I know 2 sisters [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Giselle[/name] which sound quite cute together

Of your list, I like [name]Cecily[/name] best. I also second the suggestion of [name]Tallulah[/name].

I think [name]Louisa[/name] would go best with [name]Eleanor[/name]. I like [name]Maggie[/name] with [name]Eleanor[/name] as well but as a nickname for [name]Margaret[/name]. I think [name]Margaret[/name] would be a perfect fit for [name]Eleanor[/name], actually.

I also like [name]Cecily[/name], but to my ears it sounds too similar to [name]Seth[/name]. I really like [name]Maggie[/name], but think it should be lengthened to [name]Margaret[/name], which I think goes well with [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Seth[/name].

From your list, I like [name]Cecily[/name] best with [name]Eleanor[/name]. [name]Lovely[/name] names, by the way!

I love love [name]Cecily[/name]!

[name]Cecily[/name] is beautiful.

Thank you for your input!

We like the suggestion of [name]Harriet[/name], DH isn’t sold on [name]Margaret[/name] though he thinks its a really old lady name. Gush. And we picked [name]Eleanor[/name]!=old lady name. Oh well…

I told him to look at the behind the name database again (the only one he’ll use strangely enough) and he found [name]Calla[/name] which he actually really likes.

I like it…not sure though, I think its the pronounciation for me-repeating it again and again sounds like [name]Carla[/name].

[name]Just[/name] wanted to add my vote for [name]Cecily[/name]! Beautiful name, and goes great with [name]Eleanor[/name]! This name was on our list for awhile, and I would still consider it - it’s just so pretty and girly, with fun nn’s.

I love the name [name]Cecily[/name]. It was on the top of my list but my husband wasn’t sold on it. I think it’s beautiful, classic, but not too popular. I also think it goes great with [name]Eleanor[/name].
