Well with the passing of time several of what we thought were the top four have fallen off the list and have been replaced.
I have let go of my concern about a name ending in i-y sound (kind of…) and am actually very happy with our list! I wanted something that pairs well with big sister [name]Lucia[/name] (Loo-sha) and is spunky and strong with a little bit of a vintage vibe (not super common, but still approachable).
I am trying to wrap my head around what is distinctive about each of the names that will help me know which one to go with when we see her. For example, if she is a redhead when she is born, I think [name]Remi[/name] is most fitting. If you have any opinions on looks or personality traits that match each of the names let me know!
Now comes the task of assigning mns to each of them. Potential middles are all family names: [name]Lee[/name] (yes THIS spelling), [name]Jane[/name], [name]Marjorie[/name], [name]Margaret[/name], and maaaaybe if I can convince DH, [name]Magnolia[/name].
Which would you pair with them? My only two that seem obvious to me are [name]Adrienne[/name] [name]Lee[/name], and [name]Remi[/name] [name]Jane[/name]… but them [name]Remi[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] seems very cute too! All the rest of us (me, DH and big sister [name]Lucia[/name] have “M” middles, but [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Lee[/name] both honor his mom so I am not sure which is more important).
I like [name]Remi[/name] and [name]Halle[/name] the best from your list. [name]Halle[/name] [name]Magnolia[/name] is very cute, or [name]Halle[/name] [name]Jane[/name] to honor his mom. I like [name]Remi[/name] [name]Margaret[/name] too.
I really like [name]Adrienne[/name] with your last name, and with your daughter’s name. I know it is repeating the ‘n’ sounds, but how about [name]Adrienne[/name] [name]Jane[/name]?
Neither [name]Remi[/name], [name]Halle[/name] nor [name]Hadley[/name] have the remotest hint of a vintage vibe, imo (especially very modern, very new, surname-y [name]Hadley[/name]). [name]Adrienne[/name] is timeless and very pretty, but doesn’t hit exactly the same style notes as [name]Lucia[/name].
When I think of [name]Lucia[/name] and just free-associate, names come to mind like
Of your choices I actually think sweet, vintage [name]Marjorie[/name] comes closest to the mark!
If these are the final four, then my favorite is [name]Adrienne[/name], but it feels a bit demure next to [name]Lucia[/name]. I’d love something strong and cool like [name]Nola[/name] or [name]Theda[/name]!
Your top three are the top three:
[name]Remi[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Remi[/name] [name]Margaret[/name]
[name]Halle[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
I think I like the “[name]Jane[/name]” middle name for either [name]Remi[/name] or [name]Halle[/name]. I don’t think it matters if your middle initials match in your family. No one will know that but you, whereas honoring your husband’s mother is really meaningful–much more so than matching initials, in my opinion.
From your list, I think [name]Adrienne[/name] is the winner hands down. It’s not as exotic as [name]Lucia[/name] but it’s certainly vintage and it “pairs” the best with her sister’s gorgeous and classic name. The remaining names are lacking for me. [name]Remy[/name] is my preferred spelling of the name and I like it far more for a boy than a girl. [name]Remi[/name] is too similar to [name]Demi[/name] [name]Moore[/name]'s name and you also have [name]Halle[/name] on your list too! [name]Hadley[/name] is much too contemporary and unisex for [name]Lucia[/name]'s sister.
