6 Girl Names, Please!

I’m throwing around some girl names and would love opinions on them. I like names that are unusual, but that are legitimate names with a bit of historical significance (or at least have some kind of traceable history). The middle name would likely be [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (family name), so I want the first to be longer and a bit less “plain [name_f]Jane[/name_f],” if you know what I mean. Our surname is VERY short and one-syllable, so we need something longer up-front. [name_f]My[/name_f] other children are named [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] Coppelia, if that matters at all. I’m not incredibly concerned about having a matching sibset or theme (obviously, [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] & [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] aren’t very matchy), but I don’t want a 3rd name to stand out either. I’m always open to new suggestions as well. So here’s what I have:

[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - “[name_u]Golden[/name_u]” in Latin; We’d have a nickname, though I’m not sure what.
[name_f]Britannia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Britta[/name_f]) - “From [name_m]Britain[/name_m]” in Latin; [name_f]Britannia[/name_f] is the name of a friend of mine, and I like that, for me, it brings to mind a strong female personification, similar to [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] in Greek mythology.
[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Francie[/name_f]) - “From [name_f]France[/name_f]” in Latin; [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] sounds great with our surname, but I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] the nickname [name_f]Francie[/name_f], for some reason.
[name_f]Kerensa[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - “[name_u]Love[/name_u]” in Cornish/Welsh.
Lucelia [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]) - “[name_f]Heavenly[/name_f] [name_m]Light[/name_m]” in Spanish; This is actually a 19th-century family name for me, and as an added bonus, [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is my son’s favorite name for a little sister.
[name_f]Parisa[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Risa[/name_u]) - “Spritely, [name_f]Fairy[/name_f]-like” in Persian (pronounced pa-[name_f]REE[/name_f]-sa); This name doesn’t seem to be very popular when I ask for opinions on it, but I just love it and it’s meaning, and it sounds lovely with our surname.

[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite is [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. The others I am not crazy about.
I love both [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] (it’s on my list!), but I’m wondering why you are not considering [name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] since it is in your signature…
[name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is beautiful and I think it goes very well with your children’s names.

[name_f]Scarlet[/name_f] doesn’t work with our surname, unfortunately. :frowning:

I really like [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], [name_f]Francesca[/name_f], and Lucelia. I just cant decide which one I like best. Maybe you could use [name_u]Ari[/name_u], [name_f]Aura[/name_f], [name_f]Lia[/name_f] or [name_u]Ray[/name_u](may be a stretch) as a nickname.

[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - beautiful, I love this one with [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. The meaning is beautiful. [name_f]Lovely[/name_f] with [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_m]Josiah[/name_m].

[name_f]Britannia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Britta[/name_f]) - I can’t get on board with [name_f]Britannia[/name_f] in all honesty; I think it would make a better middle name. I do see the appeal, in theory it’s a beautiful name with similar strength to [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] etc. but in practice it comes of as a bit silly (as a British person I can only think of the phrase rule [name_f]Britannia[/name_f] which makes is seem almost satirical). Maybe it could grow on me, I don’t know, but it just seems like a bad idea.

[name_f]Francesca[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Francie[/name_f]) - Wonderful, I love [name_f]Francie[/name_f], can’t fault [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] at all. That being said it doesn’t stand out on your list to me (it’s popular in my area, so maybe that’s why).

[name_f]Kerensa[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] - another lovely choice, wonderful meaning. I really like it.

Lucelia [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]) - [name_f]Lovely[/name_f], I love the fact your son helped choose it and the family connection is lovely. I will say I think it’s the least in-keeping with your [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] and [name_m]Josiah[/name_m], if that matters a lot to you, it’s not terrible but your children have quite down-to-[name_f]Earth[/name_f], rough-and-tumble type names whereas Lucelia comes across as a bit prissy to me. I guess nn [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] grounds her a bit!

[name_f]Parisa[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] (nn [name_u]Risa[/name_u]) - Gorgeous! [name_f]Parisa[/name_f] is just beautiful, I’m glad I’ve found another fan haha! I love it’s meaning and it’s a brilliant name. You wouldn’t expect it but [name_f]Daphne[/name_f], [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] and [name_f]Parisa[/name_f] actually make quite a lovely, unexpected sibset. This is my favourite on your list.

I really like [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] from your list. She will have plenty of nickname options to choose from as well that fit a wide variety of personality. While I think [name_f]Francie[/name_f] is adorable she might be more of a [name_u]Frankie[/name_u].

Well, I think [name_f]Parisa[/name_f] is lovely! [name_u]Risa[/name_u] as a nickname is super cool! I like unexpected names.
I love that you would use [name_f]Francie[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] instead of [name_u]Frankie[/name_u]! Yay! Much prettier!
You have [name_f]Elena[/name_f] in your signature. One of my faves. I love [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f]. [name_m]How[/name_m] come that isn’t on your list? I also think [name_f]Jane[/name_f] as a first name is really great. It goes well with [name_m]Josiah[/name_m] and [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] too.
From your top names, I like either [name_f]Parisa[/name_f] or [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] best.

I like [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], but my [name_m]FAVORITE[/name_m] from your list is [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]. (Plus, if for some reason she didn’t like her name, [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] could be A.J.) I think [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] sounds beautiful with your other children’s names.

I know exactly what you mean about [name_f]Britannia[/name_f]. I really like it, but I just don’t know that it’s realistic to use. It also sounds a bit clunky next to the others. It’s probably the lowest on my list, I will likely do away with it to narrow it down.

And thank you everyone! I appreciate all of the input!

I think my favorites are Lucelia (for the meaning and family connections), and [name_f]Parisa[/name_f], a gorgeous name with a pretty meaning that I have actually never heard of before.

[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], [name_f]Francesca[/name_f], or [name_f]Parisa[/name_f] (because I love [name_u]Risa[/name_u]). Though I’m partial to [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]. I love the nn [name_f]Francie[/name_f] too! (Though I spell it Francy) Great choices.

[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] and [name_f]Francesca[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] swoon me over, although [name_f]Britannia[/name_f] and [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f] are close runners up. All our your names are classy and feminine, with lots of spunk and all are charming choices! I love the stunning combo [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] the most with the nn [name_u]Ari[/name_u] or [name_f]Aura[/name_f]! Magnificent choices!

[name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], [name_f]Kerensa[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f], and Lucelia [name_f]Jane[/name_f] are all beyond gorgeous (as is [name_f]Daphne[/name_f] Coppelia–what great taste you have!)! Any of those names would be a stunning addition to you sibset

[name_f]My[/name_f] vote goes to [name_f]Francesca[/name_f]. It’s the most classic and matches well, plus you seem to like it!

Yeah, I think [name_f]Britannia[/name_f] is out. I love it, but it just doesn’t appeal to me as much as the others.
