6 weeks to go and now doubts about the name.

[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Nameberries,

Hubby and me are expecting our first boy.
We are thrilled, but the name search wasn’t as easy as with girl names, since he didn’t like a lot of names.

From the very beginning we wanted to have a [name_u]Ryan[/name_u], but still looked for other names.
We then settled with [name_m]Ryder[/name_m], but we both started having doubts.

After that we decided between [name_m]Connor[/name_m] and [name_m]Levi[/name_m].
I [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] the name [name_m]Levi[/name_m]. He wasn’t too sure, because he knows a bunch of guys named [name_m]Levi[/name_m], and I wasn’t too sure because you can spell evil with it as well.

So we said that his name is going to be [name_m]Connor[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]. ([name_m]Hugo[/name_m] after his grandfather. It’s also his middle name).

And yesterday, all of a sudden I started having doubts about the name.

[name_f]My[/name_f] husbands name is [name_u]Reece[/name_u], mine is [name_f]Jessica[/name_f], one of our daughter’s name is [name_f]Joy[/name_f].
I find they sound lovely and somehow [name_m]Connor[/name_m] sounds a little harsh to me and not really “magical”.

Or maybe I am just being silly due to pregnancy hormones??? LOL

I love names like [name_u]Noel[/name_u], [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m], [name_u]Noah[/name_u], [name_m]Miles[/name_m], [name_m]Levi[/name_m], [name_m]Luke[/name_m], …but my husband likes none of them.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Alright, let’s see… Definitly don’t stress out about it, seems to me like you have been getting through it well up until this point. So he is [name_u]Reese[/name_u] single syllable starting with an R. You are [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] 3 syllables starting with a j… And you have a joy which is a single syllable j name, sort of combines your names in that way. You said one of your daughters, do you feel comfirtable sharing your other children’s names ? Its ok if you don’t but from what I’m seeing snd having read that you were initially looking at R names for your son maybe something like a 3 syllable R name or 2 syllable even that follows along with how [name_f]Joy[/name_f] is like your names but not rymey or anything. [name_m]Just[/name_m] a thought. That said [name_m]Connor[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is a lovely name. I think that you will just have to say it a lot and see what you feel. I try and choose our kids names before I’m pregnant and then whil I’m nearly due I panic and say wait is this perfect??? But I say yes, prepregnancy brain loves it don’t worry its going to be ok. So definitly possibly your hormones are just stressing you out. If you are looking for suggestions let us know.

Is there a reason you aren’t using [name_m]Hugo[/name_m] in the first spot? I think it sounds best with your daughters’ names.

Although, if you did at one point like [name_m]Connor[/name_m], just pass it off as last trimester panic and wait to meet him?

Out of all the names you mentioned I really really like [name_m]Luke[/name_m] and [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and they both sound wonderful with [name_f]Joy[/name_f]!!! But your husband doesn’t like them that’s sad [name_m]Connor[/name_m] is nice but definitely not the same kind of name as [name_f]Joy[/name_f] not a fan of [name_m]Connor[/name_m] or [name_m]Levi[/name_m] I am big on traditional classic names which is why I love [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and [name_m]Luke[/name_m]!! I am not sure which names you and your husband both agree on? Maybe start from scratch and both write different names down and compare!!

I like [name_m]Connor[/name_m] [name_m]Hugo[/name_m]. That being said, I like the pp suggestion of using an R name since you gave your daughter a J name.

Maybe

[name_u]Rylan[/name_u]
[name_m]Roland[/name_m]
[name_u]Remy[/name_u]/[name_u]Remi[/name_u]
[name_m]Ramsey[/name_m]
[name_u]Rio[/name_u]
[name_u]Rory[/name_u]
[name_u]Rudy[/name_u]

Or maybe you’d like…

[name_m]Callum[/name_m]
[name_u]Ari[/name_u]
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_m]Lewis[/name_m] nn [name_m]Louie[/name_m]

Thanks guys!

[name_f]My[/name_f] husband said too that there are better boy names out there then [name_m]Connor[/name_m], just none we can agree on.
I hope we are not the only couple being like that.

[name_m]Hugo[/name_m] is not an option as an first name. It’s just now starting to grow on me as a middle name, but it means a lot to my husband.

I didn’t share the name of our oldest daughter since it’s german and hard for English people to pronounce it. But it starts with a J as well.

We both love [name_u]Noah[/name_u], but it’s the name of a friends kid and I think it is a really popular name.
We also both liked [name_u]Hayden[/name_u] and [name_u]Riley[/name_u], but they are more and more used for girls now too.

[name_m]Isaiah[/name_m] sounds lovely to me too.

So you see…suggestions would help and be really appreciated.

Hello how about:
[name_m]Leo[/name_m]
[name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_m]Mark[/name_m]
[name_m]Macaulay[/name_m]
[name_u]Kieran[/name_u]
[name_m]Matthew[/name_m]
[name_m]Elijah[/name_m]
[name_m]Marcus[/name_m]
[name_u]Seth[/name_u]
[name_m]Louis[/name_m]
[name_m]John[/name_m]
[name_m]Paul[/name_m]

I’m not really sure what else to suggest I would have said [name_m]Miles[/name_m] as it’s a wonderful name but you already said that one and the same with [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. You can also have a look at my signature if you would like too.
Sorry I could not have been of more help!
What do you think of the ones I did suggest though?

I like [name_f]Joy[/name_f] and [name_u]Ryan[/name_u].
