A baby boy named Jethro?

What do you think of the name [name]Jethro[/name]? And what middle name would work with it?

Wow, I actually really like it!

[name]Ethan[/name] or [name]Issac[/name] seem to flow well with it, but it would depend on the surname as well.

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Jethro[/name] because I know a child named [name]Jethro[/name] that wears his name very well. On him, it is very handsome and cool. He loves his name.

I’m honestly not a fan. [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Zachary[/name] would be nice.

Absolutely adore it! [name]Friend[/name] of mine, great old rock bands fan, planned to name his kids [name]Jethro[/name] & [name]Uriah[/name] (guess why:D), at least he has little [name]Jethro[/name] only (his second child is a girl). His son’s mn is [name]Miller[/name], which works, I think. Other possible sets are:
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Bay[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Louis[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Max[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Ray[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] + place name

For me, everything short, strong and spunky works.

I actually love [name]Jethro[/name]. I like names that end in [name]Ro[/name], I named my dog [name]Woodrow[/name]. If I could convince my husband to get onboard with [name]Jethro[/name], I think [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Dale[/name] would be perfect ([name]Dale[/name] after my grandpa). NN [name]Jed[/name].

No please no. [name]Jethro[/name] sounds very hill billy to me but if you insist. [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Vincent[/name]

It was the only name other than [name]Anton[/name] (boyfriends middle name) that he liked. And I actually like it as well. It is the middle names I am having trouble with.

@ameliawilliams - Our surname is Schamarek. You pronounce it like Sham-ah-reck. Not sure I am feeling [name]Issac[/name] or [name]Ethan[/name].

@yael- Hmmm not sure I am liking those particular middle spots. I did have [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Morrison[/name] but that may be too much of a mouthful.

More middle suggestions would be great.

I don’t picture hillbilly when I hear [name]Jethro[/name] I picture more of a cool, spunky, vibe going on.

[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Grant[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Dane[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Vaughn[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Lee[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Finn[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Evan[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Thomas[/name]

I like [name]Jethro[/name]! I think it needs a strong and maybe a little traditional middle name. With your last name, I like 2 syllables.
My favorites are [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Marshall[/name] and [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Louis[/name].

[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Michael[/name] or [name]Marshall[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Ryan[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Duncan[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Louis[/name]

I love the name [name]Jethro[/name] - the youngest of our four boys is [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Noah[/name]. We’ve never had anyone say it sounds hillbilly. He’s only 2, he loves his name and his nickname is [name]Jet[/name], per his dad’s inspiration. There are numerous great [name]Jethro[/name]‘s: [name]Moses[/name]’ father-in-law, [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Tull[/name], and [name]LeRoy[/name] [name]Jethro[/name] Gibbs. Our family has kind of a funky, biblical naming thing going on with [name]Asher[/name] [name]David[/name], [name]Boaz[/name] [name]Arthur[/name], [name]Simon[/name] [name]Frederick[/name] and [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Noah[/name]. The first names are all from the Bible, and most importantly, they are names we love. Our boys’ middle names are all family names. I say, if you love [name]Jethro[/name], go for it.

@bonnielyn- Thank you! I like [name]Louis[/name] but that is my cousin’s name so that would not work.

@mrstoon- I love [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Vaughn[/name]! [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Lee[/name] I just think of [name]Jet[/name] [name]Lee[/name]. And [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Dane[/name] is not bad but out of your list [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Vaughn[/name] stood out to me most.

@cynthiajane- Have you had any issues with the name? Or do you see it as a masculine type name? I picture a [name]Jethro[/name] being cool, laid back, handsome little boy/baby. We are not religious at all so do you think that is weird or most people would not associate the name with he bible?

[name]Do[/name] you think any of these work?

[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Grey[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Atlas[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Leo[/name]- too matchy?
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Zane[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Morrissey[/name]
jethro [name]Morrison[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Leon[/name]
[name]Jethro[/name] [name]Vaughn[/name]- nameberry suggestion

We haven’t had any issues with [name]Jethro[/name] 's name. Most people say they love it, and their first thought is [name]LeRoy[/name] [name]Jethro[/name] Gibbs from NCIS. Our little man is all boy, spunky and very active. Everyone thinks his name fits him great and he loves it and loves his nickname, [name]Jet[/name], which also suits him perfectly. We haven’t had anyone mention the Bible, probably because it’s a rather obscure Old Testament name.
I like the combinations with [name]Atlas[/name], [name]Leon[/name] or [name]Vaughn[/name] as a middle name. Best of luck!

Thank you so much, it is nice to hear from berries who either have a child named [name]Jethro[/name] or know of one and they fit their name. I am all about different more adventurous names and this is probably the most adventurous my boyfriend will go. Thank you for letting me know which middles you like!

I picture [name]Jethro[/name] from [name]Doctor[/name] Who, so I see a [name]Jethro[/name] as a cool, laid-back, handsome, snarky but not unkind

I never heard of Doctor Who before. I can picture a child with the name being like that but so not wearing those clothes.

I immediately think of NCIS ([name]Leroy[/name] [name]Jethro[/name] Gibbs is the main protagonist of the series) and of [name]Jethro[/name] [name]Tull[/name], the band. I really enjoy both associations.

It is a very television name. An Old tv show the [name]Beverly[/name] Hillbillies with a character named [name]Jethro[/name] Bodine. Also [name]Leroy[/name] [name]Jethro[/name] Gibbs from NCIS although I always got the feeling his name was a joke. A lot of hillbilly names with the surname Gibbs. Never known a [name]Jethro[/name] in real life but then we aren’t country people.
