A baby boy is joining our family in the fall and my partner and I aren’t entirely on the same page yet about what names to bring to the hospital with us.

We had three possible names in mind for our daughter when she was born and landed on Saskia Lorelei when we met her.

This time around, our long list tends towards German, Dutch and Scandinavian names that are familiar but still fairly rare. And we’re looking for something that works with his big sister’s name without it sounding too similar in either full or nickname form.

I love Saskia and I love Casper & Elio. They’re two of my absolute favourites. I also love Florian, Rafael, Stellan & Frederick. Really, all of the names on your list are fantastic - these are just the ones that I really adore and think complement Saskia best.

Saskia & Casper is probably my favourite pairing. I like the symmetry created by the matching letter count and they have a very similar feel, perhaps because of their similar origins in northern & western Europe.

My second favourite sibset is Saskia & Elio. They make such a cool, spunky duo, and they almost look as fantastic side by side as Saskia & Caspar do.
