I’ve been crushing on the nickname [name_m]Iggy[/name_m], and I’d like to discuss some full name options:
[name_m]Finnigan[/name_m] - I feel like pairing an Irish surname-name in a sibset with a Scottish surname-name might be too much. Thoughts?
[name_m]Inigo[/name_m] - [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite version of [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]. But is it too weird? Does it look too much like a typo of the color [name_f]Indigo[/name_f]?
[name_m]Ignace[/name_m] - [name_f]My[/name_f] 2nd fav version of [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m]. But is it too old-sounding?
We don’t like most other names containing Ig like [name_m]Sigmund[/name_m] and all other versions of [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m], so these are the top contenders for our list with the nn [name_m]Iggy[/name_m].
I also vote [name_m]Finnigan[/name_m]. I indeed missread [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] as [name_f]Indigo[/name_f] and I think that [name_m]Ignace[/name_m] might be too out of reach nowadays. And another plus for [name_m]Finnigan[/name_m] is that of he hates the nn [name_m]Iggy[/name_m], he can always go by [name_u]Finn[/name_u].
I actually like [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] because of the reference to [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] Montoya from the princess bride.
It may look like the color at first glance or people might hear [name_f]Indigo[/name_f] at first but a lot of names have similar sounds like that.
I actually don’t care for [name_m]Finnigan[/name_m] except as an Irish Surname, and don’t care for it as a first. Especially with how big the name [name_u]Finn[/name_u] is right now, people would want to call him [name_u]Finn[/name_u] instead of [name_m]Iggy[/name_m].
Not too crazy over [name_m]Ignace[/name_m] either though.
[name_m]Finnigan[/name_m] - [name_f]My[/name_f] least favourite. It’s not bad, and it has a lovely jaunty charm, I just don’t love it, and the nn [name_m]Iggy[/name_m] seems more natural with the other two names.
[name_m]Inigo[/name_m] - I think most people will automatically think of [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] Montoya of the [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Bride[/name_f], rather than the colour indigo. I love this one.
[name_m]Ignace[/name_m] - [name_u]LOVE[/name_u]. It’s definitely very spunky and lovely. I prefer [name_m]Ignatius[/name_m], but that is just a personal thing- [name_m]Ignace[/name_m] is still great.
I love [name_m]Inigo[/name_m] but even I have admit that it would look odd alongside brother [name_u]Campbell[/name_u]. I think [name_m]Finnigan[/name_m] would be a better option as it shares a Celtic surname style.
