A Floral Update?

I was looking at the alyssum in my garden, wondering if Alyssum could be an update for [name_f]Alyssa[/name_f], but then I realized it looked a bit like asylum!

So much for my flower ingenuity!

I’m wondering if folks have floral updates that work better or just botanical names they’d love to see people named?

i think its cute, but as soon as i read it i read asylum instead, so that may bring several issues in!

Super list!

I didn’t know [name_f]Cassia[/name_f] was botanical, but I love the name.

[name_u]Or[/name_u] [name_f]Madelief[/name_f], which I adore (just don’t care for Maddie).

I’d love to meet a [name_u]Thistle[/name_u]!

I also misread it as asylum. My suggestion for this category is Calanthe, possibly as an alternative to Caroline.

I love Alchemilla - could be an updated [name_f]Camilla[/name_f]!

Yeah, asylum was my first thought I’m afraid.

I do like [name_f]Salvia[/name_f] as an alternative for [name_f]Sylvia[/name_f] (though maybe to close to saliva?)

I read asylum too!

I think my floral update is that since bluebells have appeared in my garden which marks spring for me I’ve been loving [name_f]Bluebell[/name_f] as a name. How sweet would [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] [name_f]Bluebell[/name_f] or [name_f]Enid[/name_f] [name_f]Bluebell[/name_f] be?! Whereas before I was not a fan of the name.
