I’ve considered [name_f]Theodora[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f], [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f], [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f], [name_f]Theresa[/name_f], [name_f]Althea[/name_f], [name_f]Cynthia[/name_f]… But I don’t love any of them.
Right now my front runner for a full name is [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], but is it too much of a stretch? Am I missing any other options?
[name_f]Theodora[/name_f] is lovely! I think that’s the name that most naturally leads to teddy.
We are big nicknamers and in a sense it isn’t a HUGE deal what goes on the birth certificate if you intend to call them by their nickname. I love my sons nickname and his birth certicate name grew on me, but not ONCE have I ever called him by it!
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is a stretch but, as pp has pointed out, nicknames don’t necessarily have to be tied to the given name. [name_u]Teddy[/name_u] is a cute nn and I can see it working well for a baby/small child just as a sweet pet name. I think you could really call her whatever you like best as a full name.
