A good name/meaning for a long awaited babe?

Hoping for some suggestions for names that have meanings that would express gratitude for a long awaited baby… ( looking for names while STILL waiting and trying!)

For example… [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] means gift from God

Other suggestions??

Thanks!

1.) Hector- “Holding Fast”
2.) Prospero – Moving forth
3.) Merritt or ANY puritan Name would work

4.) Jasper means treasurer- the treasurer of your hearts
5.)Basque name Eneko "my little one

6.) Jude is the English form of Judah, a biblical name borne by several notable figures in the Bible. Judah itself is a shortened form of the Hebrew name Yehudah.Yehudah most likely derives from the Hebrew yadah (יָדָה) meaning “give thanks, praise”. You’ll have to research each saint though, if they interest you.

The “[name_f]Mary[/name_f]” names can mean ‘wished for child.’ [name_f]Miriam[/name_f], [name_f]Mireille[/name_f], [name_f]Maria[/name_f]
Desirée means desired, as does [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]…
[name_m]Saul[/name_m] means “prayed for.”
Kayin I think means “celebrated child.”
[name_f]Eliana[/name_f]- “God has answered.”
[name_f]Anina[/name_f]- “let my prayer be answered.”
You could go with any of the fertility goddesses: [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], [name_f]Brigid[/name_f], [name_f]Isis[/name_f], Freyja, [name_f]Juno[/name_f], [name_f]Lucina[/name_f]…
or of course, any of the “gift of God” names.

[name_m]Samuel[/name_m] was the first name that comes to mind it means “asked of God”.

You might consider [name_m]Isaac[/name_m].

[name_m]Isaac[/name_m] was my first thought as well. It means laughter and was used by [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] for her son after a lifetime of infertility.

Or [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], meaning increase/addition, used by [name_f]Rachel[/name_f] after years of infertility.

[name_m]Asher[/name_m], means happiness, a very clear indication. [name_m]Felix[/name_m] also means happy and prosperous.

[name_m]Ephraim[/name_m], means fruitful or increasing.

[name_m]Matthew[/name_m]/[name_m]Matthias[/name_m] mean gift of God/a given reward. Same with [name_m]Nathan[/name_m]/[name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m]

[name_m]Jonathan[/name_m] means gift of God

[name_m]Dominic[/name_m] means belonging to God

[name_m]Ian[/name_m] means God is gracious

[name_m]Bennett[/name_m] means blessed.
