I am due in 5 weeks with a boy. Our son’s name is [name]Carson[/name] [name]James[/name]. We are at a loss on what to name this boy. [name]Carson[/name] is getting used for girls now, which I don’t like. I probably wouldn’t have named him that if I thought the name was going to go to the girls, I’d hate for it to be another [name]Taylor[/name] and in 15 years everyone assumes that [name]Carson[/name] is a girl. So with that in mind, we have a (very) short list of names that we kind of sort of like. We don’t really want another “C” name. The middle name will be [name]John[/name].
[name]Parker[/name]-we really like this but I think it too is going to the girls, and becoming quite popular.
[name]Alec[/name]
[name]Evan[/name]
[name]Reid[/name]- don’t like how it sounds with [name]John[/name] as a mn
[name]Gavin[/name]-hubby likes this, it’s ok to me, but I’d like to avoid another name ending in n
Last name starts with an M and is 2 syllables.
Any new suggestions are welcomed!!! We are stumped!
My son’s name is [name]Evan[/name] [name]James[/name] and I do love [name]Carson[/name] [name]James[/name] too… and I notice you have [name]Evan[/name] listed… but since [name]Evan[/name] is a form of [name]John[/name], I would not use it… I also love the name [name]Reid[/name] but [name]Reid[/name] [name]John[/name] doesn’t work for me either. what about [name]Reid[/name] [name]Jonathan[/name] M----…that works better, I think… other names you may like are:
Thanks, [name]Jay[/name] is another possible family middle name instead of [name]John[/name], but I’m not sure if [name]Carson[/name] [name]James[/name] and [name]Evan[/name] [name]Jay[/name] are too matchy. So tough! I feel like I really need to analyze this and make sure I don’t have a little regret like I do about [name]Carson[/name]'s name since it is being used so much for girls.
I have a [name]Carson[/name] [name]Joseph[/name], and I would not have named him that if I would have known that [name]Carson[/name] would be turned into a popular girl’s name. I met a [name]Karsyn[/name] recently–not my taste at all. I see how [name]Emmerson[/name] could work on a girl (nn [name]Em[/name] or [name]Emmy[/name]), but [name]Carson[/name] just seemed super masculine to me 6 years ago.
Anyway–we named our 2nd boy [name]Gavin[/name], and I love the combo. I like [name]Gavin[/name] [name]John[/name] a lot! Our 3rd boy is [name]Everett[/name], although we almost went with [name]Nolan[/name]. I also loved [name]Evan[/name], but I think you will see [name]Evan[/name] heading toward the girls in the same way [name]Carson[/name] has. That’s why we went with [name]Everett[/name] to get the “Ev” sound we wanted!
[name]Do[/name] you like [name]Liam[/name]? I like that it has a sound that goes well with [name]Carson[/name], but it ends in “m” instead.
It seems like so many boys names are being used for girls! [name]Do[/name] you think carson/karsyn will become really popular for girls? I like the suggestions of [name]Gavin[/name] and [name]Nolan[/name]!
[name]Carson[/name] is very masculine - don’t fret. If it’s any consolation we thought we were being “on the edge” when we picked out [name]Jackson[/name] 4 1/2 years a go - - we all know how that story ends. [name]Don[/name]‘t worry - you love the name and your son I’m sure is good with it. I will always think of it as masculine first I’m pretty sure. Why with all the beautiful girls’ names do they need to snag solid boys’ names? Oh well. I love [name]Reid[/name], [name]Evan[/name] and [name]Parker[/name] on your list. [name]Gavin[/name] & [name]Nolan[/name] are also great! Is [name]Parker[/name] really going to the girls’? I haven’t heard it yet.
Some other names I like with [name]Carson[/name]…
[name]Logan[/name]
[name]Connor[/name] (I know - a C name - but it’s different)
[name]Elias[/name]
[name]Blake[/name]
[name]Porter[/name]
[name]Everett[/name]
[name]Silas[/name]
[name]Easton[/name]
I still think [name]Carson[/name] is masculine. I don’t like it at all for a girl! I do agree that [name]Parker[/name] could go to the girl’s side though. I love latergater’s suggestion of [name]Easton[/name]. Here are some others to consider.
I think [name]Parker[/name] is definitely going to the girls, but I think [name]Gavin[/name] is a nice choice. I don’t ever see it going to the girls I think [name]Gavin[/name] [name]John[/name] is nice and would go well with [name]Carson[/name]. Somebody suggested [name]Logan[/name] and I think that is great too. [name]Both[/name] [name]Logan[/name] and [name]Gavin[/name] would go great with [name]Carson[/name]. Good luck
