🌈 a look at our current list

hi friends! :white_heart:

popping in to chat about some ideas for our future little ones, because i’ve been feeling so inspired today. i also get to test on friday, so hopefully this will bring some baby dust our way

as many of you can probably tell, we love unique nature names and names connected to our Catholic [name_m]Christian[/name_m] faith. i love a good Bible name, but i probably realistically prefer something gently religious, in case our future baby’s religious views don’t align with ours. we are interested in honoring [name_m]Saint[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], Jesus’s foster father, as my husband will be confirmed next [name_f]Easter[/name_f] and he is choosing [name_m]Saint[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] as his patron, but we love the idea of honoring really any Saints, cool historical figures, or family members that our little one could look up to :dove:

without further ado, here are some ideas we have…

for a baby sister :butterfly:

:blossom: [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] — for [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] [name_m]Trotter[/name_m], and [name_m]Saint[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m], through his symbol of lilies. this would also connect her to the many women in our family born in [name_f]May[/name_f], whether she is or not! [name_f]Mercy[/name_f] [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] and [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] [name_f]Deborah[/name_f] are my combination ideas.

:blossom: [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f] — this really doesn’t have much of a meaning for us other than an exclamation of praise. our next baby will be a double rainbow, and i’d love to honor how [name_m]God[/name_m] has carried us through this time. i love the nicknames that go along with her as well, particularly ā€œHoneyā€ and ā€œAnnieā€, but this is probably a top middle name rather than first! [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f] and [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f] [name_f]Olivet[/name_f] are how i would most likely pair her, but i love her with most other names on this list, too!

:blossom: [name_f]Valley[/name_f] — my husband’s most favorite. it is an ode to the farm he grew up on, where we spent much of our time as teenagers. it also connects to [name_m]Saint[/name_m] [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] and the [name_f]May[/name_f] women in our family through lilies of the valley, which i think is so sweet. i also love it for [name_m]Psalm[/name_m] 23 and the song ā€œFlowersā€ by [name_f]Samantha[/name_f] [name_m]Ebert[/name_m]. [name_f]Valley[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_f]Valley[/name_f] [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f], [name_f]Valley[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], and [name_f]Shiloh[/name_f] [name_f]Valley[/name_f] are some ideas we love.

:blossom: [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] — this is one i adore and hold so closely to my heart! she makes an appearance in both mine and my husband’s family trees, is gentle, Biblical, and has a great meaning. [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f] are probably our most likely uses, and i just love [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] for sisters!

:blossom: [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] — i wanted to name our [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] this so bad, but my husband said it didn’t fit her vibe lol. i love the connection to family ties, as she would be a very wished for baby sister. my grandma has a K name as well, and often refers to herself and me as kindred spirits, so that feels pretty special. i love [name_m]Kit[/name_m] and [name_f]Indy[/name_f] as nicknames. [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is probably our most likely combination. it just feels like our girl!

:blossom: [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Merit[/name_f], and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] — i find that [name_f]Marian[/name_f] names keep coming up, so i kind of just smooshed these together. i dreamt that our [name_m]Rivers[/name_m] was telling me he wants to name his baby sister ā€œRosemaryā€, so that feels pretty special, but [name_f]Merit[/name_f] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] have been long time favorites, too! [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f], [name_f]Lenorah[/name_f] [name_f]Merit[/name_f], and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f] are a few combinations we love.

:blossom: [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] — while i adore [name_f]Havilah[/name_f], i think the meaning of [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] fits much better for our circumstances. i’ve dreamt quite a few times of a daughter of ours named [name_f]Chava[/name_f] and it just feels perfect for us. [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f], [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], and [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] have made our list.

:blossom: [name_f]Fern[/name_f] — i have few words to describe how much i adore sweet [name_f]Fern[/name_f]. i’ve had her on my list since middle school, just like my daughter’s name. she’s a bit close to [name_f]Florence[/name_f], ā€œWrenā€, i know, but i just love the flow of [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f], [name_f]Florence[/name_f], and [name_f]Fern[/name_f] for our girls! ties them together nicely, imo. ā€œWings of protectionā€ is also an unmatched symbolic meaning for a double rainbow baby. i could see her being [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f], [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f], [name_f]Luella[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f], and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f].

:blossom: [name_f]Solveig[/name_f] — both my husband and i come from Scandinavian background, and we love the idea of honoring that shared history in our families. [name_f]Solveig[/name_f] has been one we’ve loved since high school, and it’s definitely not unheard of where we live (the first Norwegian settlement in our State!) i love [name_m]Sol[/name_m] as a nickname and both meanings of this name; she just sounds so magical with [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f], too! i have [name_f]Solveig[/name_f] [name_f]Foxglove[/name_f] on my list, but i could also see her as [name_f]Solveig[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] or [name_f]Solveig[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f].

i’d love to hear your thoughts, friends. ranking and rating is welcome, brief thoughts on each, or just telling me your favorite and least favorite. i’d appreciate whatever you feel like doing!

wishing you a wonderful week :white_heart:

I love all these descriptions and I’m sure any child of yours will want to read this one day.

My thoughts are:

Ruth and Fern are probably my faves.

Ruth is so symbolic, religiously speaking and both she and Fern balance your set. They’re both charming; Fern is a little lighter, Ruth is more intense (in a good way!).

I also really like Solveig, probably with Beatice - or with another name like Rosanna. Took an awful edit sign to add: I also like Lenorah Solveig. Leonor(e) & Leonora Solveig are also beautiful.

I like Lilias including for her strong symbolism, but I think it’s a bit close to Willa - so is Luella to me - and might anyway trip people up. It would be a middle name only for me, Eg Ruth Lilias. You might want the strong L connection between the names though and I do appreciate her tailored feel and her distinct S ending. (My great grandmother was Roses which I find to be so delightful!)

I like Valley and Kindred - they’re both gorgeous esp with Josephine (which would be so good to use as middle with the connection to your husband). They read a little ā€œyoungest childā€ to me as they’re different to the older three. Rosemary Kindred could be a lovely option too btw, you could still use Indy. They would probably be middles for me, same for Hosanna, but I’m drawn to them being your husband’s and your favourites.

Chavalah might be tricky with enforcing the starting sound (?). I also just see this as probably Jewish more than distinctly Catholic - not that this matters especially but if you’re particularly aiming for the latter?

You have plenty of lovely names to choose from, but some others you might like in your combinations:

Blythe, Verity, Linnea, Laurel, Jemima, Sylvie in top spot (but I think with a different middle to Fern, eg Sylvie Kindred), Clare, Cecile, Brigid, Bernadette, Therese/Tessa/Tess, or Agnes.

Hope this helps! And good luck for Fri! :crossed_fingers:

I had never thought of [name_f]Valley[/name_f] as an honour for [name_f]May[/name_f] birthdays / lily of the valley, but I love it! It seems like such a special name for you and your family. I like [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] for you, too - so lovely with El0wyn, although [name_f]Lily[/name_f] and [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f], too rhymey? And she is close to [name_f]Willa[/name_f], too - maybe she’s a middle?

I’m not a [name_m]Christian[/name_m] so [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f] feels like a lot to me, but I can really see that she suits your family, and I love your nickname ideas. I agree she might be best in the middle (forgive me if this is too gutter-minded but I worry that first syllable has the potential to be teased).

[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is a lovely warm name, she feels a little traditional for your list but I must agree that [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] and [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f] would be so adorable!!

I like [name_m]Kindred[/name_m]! Opposite of [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] in that she is wordier than some of your other choices, but I see the vision! Was your husband on board in theory but just didn’t like it for that specific baby? Maybe it wasn’t E’s vibe because it needed to be saved for her sister…?

[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Merit[/name_f], and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] are all great for this list - perhaps [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] especially since she feels a little more in the middle of the 2020s/vintagey [name_m]Venn[/name_m] diagram to me, like E - and I loooove [name_f]Goldie[/name_f]. [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is sweet, though, especially with your dream! [name_f]Merit[/name_f] feels more in line with [name_f]Valley[/name_f] and [name_m]Kindred[/name_m].

[name_f]Love[/name_f] the meaning of [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f], as neither [name_m]Christian[/name_m] nor Jewish I don’t really feel I can comment much on her other than that. I would assume a [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] was Jewish but maybe that’s ignorance on my part?

[name_f]Fern[/name_f] is delightful and warm, she fits well with the vibes of [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_f]Florence[/name_f]. I don’t think she’s too close to [name_f]Florence[/name_f] ā€˜Wren’, and love that she’s a longtime name crush. Sticking power is a good sign!

[name_f]Solveig[/name_f] is soooo cool and pretty, and I adore her with E!! What a stunning sisterset! [name_f]She[/name_f] fits less well with your other girls perhaps, so it depends how much you value cohesion between all their names.

My favourite combos you’ve mentioned ~
[name_f]Valley[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Shiloh[/name_f] [name_f]Valley[/name_f]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f]
[name_m]Kindred[/name_m] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f]
[name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f]
[name_f]Solveig[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Solveig[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]

I’m sure you’ve run all the possible combos in your mind, but other variations I like would be ~
[name_f]Solveig[/name_f] [name_f]Lilias[/name_f]
[name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Solveig[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_m]Kindred[/name_m] [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_m]Kindred[/name_m]
[name_f]Valley[/name_f] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_m]Kindred[/name_m]
[name_f]Solveig[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]
[name_f]Solveig[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]

Sending you good wishes for that baby dust :sparkles:

That is lovely :face_holding_back_tears:

This list is absolutely gorgeous - I love how much thought & meaning you cultivate through names :heart_hands:

Ranked in order of preference (sort of)…

[name_f]Valley[/name_f] [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f] :olive: :dove: :tulip: → combining these two because this is one of those names where I see it and think "that’s Hannah’s". I love the soft nature connections, the biblical ties, & the lyrical sound. As a combo, it combines an exclamation of praise with a sweet reflection on the beautiful family that would bring her into the world. Looking at their meaning, ā€œdeliver us between the mountains,ā€ makes me love it even more!

[name_m]Kindred[/name_m] :blossom: :crescent_moon: :butterfly: → [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] ā€œKitā€ is so darling! [name_m]The[/name_m] phrase ā€œkindred spiritsā€ is one of my favorites. [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is lovely, but I’ll also suggest [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] (or maybe [name_f]Rosemay[/name_f]? to tie in that [name_f]May[/name_f] women connection?) as an homage to your sweet dream about [name_m]Rivers[/name_m] & [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f]. I love the balance of the combo, from the whimsical [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] to the grounded & feminine Josephine/Rosemary.

[name_f]Fern[/name_f] :potted_plant: :lady_beetle: :woman_cartwheeling: → sweet, spunky, & literary, I love the nature connections & flow with your other girls. [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] is absolutely stunning! I’ve also heard that ferns represent resilience, and I absolutely love that tie. [name_m]The[/name_m] character from Charlotte’s [name_m]Web[/name_m] is my main association, and what a lovely one it is!

[name_f]Solveig[/name_f] :unicorn: :castle: :swan: → [name_f]Solveig[/name_f] & E are absolutely magical together! the connection to your Scandanavian backgrounds is so beautiful, and I’m loving the nickname potential (Sol, [name_m]Solly[/name_m], Vey, Sunny). I would be absolutely over the moon to meet a baby [name_f]Solveig[/name_f]! [name_f]Loving[/name_f] the combo [name_f]Solveig[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f]!

[name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] :olive: :cloud: :hyacinth: → such a peaceful name with a beautiful sound! [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is a stunning combo as well. [name_m]The[/name_m] ā€œchā€ vs. ā€œhā€ pronunciation may be difficult for those unfamiliar with the name, but if that doesn’t bother you it’s no big deal! [name_f]Love[/name_f] E & [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] together too.

[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] :yarn: :ladder: :nest_with_eggs: → a strong, cozy name, and definitely fits all of your criteria! [name_m]Her[/name_m] sound is slightly less floaty & soft than your other picks, but the friendly sparkle of the nickname [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f] bridges that gap imo!

[name_f]Merit[/name_f], [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], & [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] :basket: :cherry_blossom: :rabbit: → all gorgeous options, and the dream of [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] is so beautiful. Since these have meaning for you, but perhaps less so than some of the others you’ve mentioned, I’m loving them as middles!

[name_f]Lilias[/name_f] :bouquet: :ballet_shoes: :mirror: → love love love the connections to St [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] & the [name_f]May[/name_f] women in your family, though the sound of [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] does align very closely with [name_f]Willa[/name_f]. I’m loving [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] as a middle here – [name_f]Mercy[/name_f] [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] is such a breathtaking combo with so much meaning!

I hope this helped, even though it was mostly me raving about how beautiful all these names are :joy: Sending all the baby dust! :sparkles:

[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is my personal favourite, but [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] and [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f] would also be perfect for your family! [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] or [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] would both be beautiful in my opinion. I do love [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] from your list!

[name_f]Lilias[/name_f] [name_f]Deborah[/name_f] is gorgeous, elegant and unexpected, not too close to [name_f]Willa[/name_f] IMO. I know it has a [name_m]Joseph[/name_m] connection as it is, but I couldn’t help mentioning [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] because it’s so pretty as well.

[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_f]Fern[/name_f] are also nice names - [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]?

[name_f]Marigold[/name_f] and [name_f]Lenorah[/name_f] are a good fit for you as well. I personally love [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] and [name_f]Elowen[/name_f] have a soft nature-adjacent vibe, so I’m voting for that or [name_f]Lilias[/name_f].

These are all so beautiful [name_f]Hannah[/name_f].

[name_m]Kindred[/name_m] is my favourite, I love the idea of little [name_m]Wynn[/name_m] and Kit/Indy running around, and it’s ties to your family specifically.

[name_f]Valley[/name_f] is a close second though, I love how much she means to you, and how spirited she is in every combo you include her in.

[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] gets third place, I love the idea of your beloved [name_m]Rivers[/name_m] naming a potential little sibling, that’s just too cute.

[name_f]Hosanna[/name_f] and [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] are runners up, because I love their meanings for you so much, I just love the stories behind the other three more.

[name_m]The[/name_m] rest of these are in no particular order.

[name_f]Merit[/name_f], [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], and [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] are generally on the same level for me, they’re beautiful, and meaningful to you, and I love that.

[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] is a special one, I know her story in the Bible, and I feel like that determined energy is perfect for your family.

I think [name_f]Fern[/name_f] is so cute, and perfectly usable for you, [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f], [name_f]Florence[/name_f], and [name_f]Fern[/name_f] are the loveliest.

[name_f]Solveig[/name_f] might have a little trouble in the US, but nothing people won’t get past, and I love the nickname [name_m]Sol[/name_m] for her, how precious.

Overall, [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] is my favourite for you, but honestly, any child if yours will be beautifully named no matter what! Good luck!

my favorites for you, considering meanings and flow with your existing names, are [name_f]Valley[/name_f], [name_m]Kindred[/name_m], [name_f]Marigold[/name_f], [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] & [name_f]Solveig[/name_f] :herb::sunflower:

:blossom: i love the idea of honoring a place special to you and your husband with [name_f]Valley[/name_f], especially a place significant to when you were younger. I think there’s something extra special about honoring aspects of a parents’ love story in their child’s name (i have a name like this on my list as well, and i love it). I also love the other meanings connected to [name_f]Valley[/name_f] for you :sun_with_face: I love [name_f]Valley[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f] with E’s full name.

:blossom: [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] is just such a ā€˜hannah’ name. she’s spirited, and spiritual, which is so perfect for you. I adore the ā€˜kindred spirits’ connection. [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is such a gentle and special name :rainbow:

:blossom: [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] is just such a lovely, bright name, i really love her vibe for you. [name_f]Goldie[/name_f] makes the sweetest nickname, especially with [name_m]Wynn[/name_m]. I also love the meaning of remembrance connected to marigolds as a double rainbow baby name. Something feels so aligned about [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] for you! [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f] is gorgeous, but I also love the idea of [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Lenorah[/name_f] or maybe [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] :sun:

:blossom: [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] is gorgeous, and i especially love [name_f]Chava[/name_f] for you. She’s got that same whimsical yet earthy feel that E’s name has, like a woodsy fairy. I do think the pronunciation with [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] may be difficult for some who are unfamiliar with the name, but an easy hurdle to get past, especially with [name_f]Chava[/name_f] as a nickname to fall back on. [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is stunning, and so is [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]. I also adore her as a middle, with [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] :wing:

:blossom: [name_f]Solveig[/name_f] has that same magical, woodsy feel :herb: El0wyn & [name_f]Solveig[/name_f] sounds like woodland sprites together, and I adore it. I love the nod to your heritage and her gorgeous meanings. I also think you could get away with nickname sunny, which is delightful and adorable :sun: [name_f]Solveig[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] is dreamy

Firstly wishing you all the best and sending baby dust your way :sparkles:

My thoughts

[name_f]Lilias[/name_f] ~ of course rather predictably I love [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] I think she pretty, lilting choice that sounds whimsy and bright. I think she definitely has a very spring inspired choice and would be a sweet subtle way to honour your loved ones. I also think [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] is beautiful nature choice with El0wyn. Looking at your combinations I really like [name_f]Mercy[/name_f] [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] she’s gorgeous and I also like how [name_f]Mercy[/name_f] feels like a subtle honour to your mum.

[name_f]Hosanna[/name_f] ~ I think [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f] is a bright spiritual choice but I do prefer [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f] in the middle name spot. I really love the whimsy flair of [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f].

[name_f]Valley[/name_f] ~ I think [name_f]Valley[/name_f] is a spirited nature name that feels outdoorsy and nature inspired she’s a fun hippy dippy choice that’s sweet with El0wyn. I also like how the sentiment behind [name_f]Valley[/name_f] for you.
[name_f]Valley[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] really appeals to me.

[name_f]Ruth[/name_f] ~ I absolutely love [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] she’s a gorgeous biblical name that feels wholesome, peaceful, with a fabulous meaning attached along with great biblical history. I love the sweet eclectic vibe of [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] + El0wyn together especially with the fun nicknames [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f] + [name_f]Ruthie[/name_f]. [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] is stunning.

[name_m]Kindred[/name_m] ~ I think [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] is very cool girl and I like the connection to your Grandma especially with the nicknames [name_f]Indy[/name_f] + [name_m]Kit[/name_m]. I really like El0wyn & [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] together especially love [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].

[name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] ~ I really love [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] she’s such a wholesome, warm name with pretty cottagecore imagery attached. I love the connections to roses and the sea through her meaning along with sweet nickname options of [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] & [name_f]Romy[/name_f]. I love [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Sonnet[/name_f] and connection to [name_m]Rivers[/name_m].

[name_f]Merit[/name_f] ~ she’s a bright spunky choice that feels energetic and fun. However I strongly prefer [name_f]Merritt[/name_f] spelling wise I think the double tt looks more complete. [name_f]Lenorah[/name_f] [name_f]Merit[/name_f] is gorgeous and I really associate [name_f]Lenorah[/name_f] with you.

[name_f]Marigold[/name_f] ~ I love [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]! I think she’s fabulous with El0wyn such a fun sunny sister set that feels full of happiness and golden yellow. Really gorgeous. I also love the [name_f]Wynnie[/name_f] & [name_f]Goldie[/name_f] together. [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f] is a bold choice but personally would prefer [name_f]Theodora[/name_f] or [name_f]Dorothea[/name_f].

[name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] ~ I am from a Jewish background (my mum is Jewish) and this name carries a lot of Jewish significance so I’m not entirely sure how well the name would carry outside the community. I would use as a middle name with [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] being pretty.

[name_f]Fern[/name_f] ~ I really love [name_f]Fern[/name_f] she’s such a sweet vintage name that feels wholesome and packed with cottagecore imagery. I completely understand why you love [name_f]Fern[/name_f] especially with El0wyn. [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f] feels very you!

[name_f]Solveig[/name_f] ~ I find her intriguing and a cool choice to honour your ancestry but the overall sound doesn’t appeal to me as much as others on your list. [name_f]Solveig[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] is pretty but doesn’t sing to me as much as your other choices.

My top combinations:
[name_f]Mercy[/name_f] [name_f]Lilias[/name_f], [name_f]Valley[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f],
[name_m]Kindred[/name_m] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Lenorah[/name_f] [name_f]Merit[/name_f], [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] (not keen on [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f]) + [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Zipporah[/name_f].

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps

you are so kind :face_holding_back_tears:

thank you for all the thought you put into this, dear friend. i agree, [name_f]Ruth[/name_f] and [name_f]Fern[/name_f] feel really lovely with our daughter on earth and our two in heaven as well. they seem to bridge the classic with the whimsical perfectly.

Roses is probably the coolest name i’ve ever heard. i love the S endings, too. they’re just so unique and strong. i hear you on [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] being close to [name_f]Willa[/name_f], but always kind of adored that as i feel i could not use her name for an earthside baby, but i love the sounds as an ode to her. she also would’ve been born in [name_f]May[/name_f] and is one of the ā€œMay girlsā€ we’d love to honor.

i so agree that [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] can feel a bit out of place, too. i do have Polish Jewish roots on both sides of my family, so i kind of love that connection, but maybe just [name_f]Chava[/name_f] is a better ode. i adore the Fiddler association too.

i have been thinking on [name_f]Clare[/name_f] a lot lately, as one of my great grandmothers was [name_f]Clarice[/name_f] and she always went by ā€œClareā€, i love that you mentioned it. i also adore [name_f]Blythe[/name_f], [name_f]Verity[/name_f], [name_f]Linnea[/name_f], and [name_f]Cecile[/name_f].

thank you so much :white_heart:

i have to give all the credit to my husband!! he wanted to name [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f], [name_f]Valley[/name_f] so bad!

i think i agree that, though i adore [name_f]Lilias[/name_f], she might make a better middle name. plus i don’t really care for [name_f]Lily[/name_f]— i know that sounds silly as i’m loving the lily symbolism!

i see that in [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f] too, though i love it. i think i wouldn’t like to have that first syllable in my first name either

i agree completely that [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] is the perfect sister for [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] stylistically. i think just about everyone i know irl that i share my names with holds her in the top spot

and you’re totally right that [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] definitely leans more Jewish. i am now considering that if we put her in the first name spot, just [name_f]Chava[/name_f] might be better. i do love her spiritual gentleness and whimsy!

i appreciate you adding some new mixes to our combo list— i definitely do not think of all the obvious options sometimes, haha! [name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Meadow[/name_f] struck me instantly, how lovely! i also love [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], [name_f]Fern[/name_f] [name_f]Solveig[/name_f], and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f] :blossom:

your insight has been so helpful, friend, thank you! :white_heart:

:blossom: [name_f]Lilias[/name_f] - if i am being honest, lilias isn’t my favourite for you guys. i think she would get a little bit confused with lily. also she might get shorted to lily a lot. though, i do like her as a middle for you as she seems to hold a lot of meaning. mercy lilias is pretty but is a little wordy and lilias deborah is very pretty and reminds me of spring and flowers :bouquet:

:blossom: [name_f]Hosanna[/name_f]: i like hosanna for you guys! i feel it connects to your name nicely with the -anna ended (even though your name ends with a h) and it feels subtle. if you used it as a first i think honey is absolutely adorable!!! annie is also uber cute but something about honey is making me swoon. for the combos meadow hosanna is very pretty and i love the floral-y vibes she is giving. hosanna olivet is also very pretty and has more of a darker vibe, which is still beautiful! though it does lighten when you add the nicknames into the eqaution. :olive:

:blossom: [name_f]Valley[/name_f]: valley might be one of my favourites for you! i may be biased because she is in my shortlist. (which, thanks to you for selling me on valley!) i think it connects so much to you and your husband’s teen years beautifully and to saint joseph and to the women born in may. it all ties back in such a special way, which i love for y’all. i like valley grace but she is a tad bit wordy, still stunning. valley hosanna is very pretty! i really like her and might be my favourite out of your hosanna combos, she feels like this emoji (in the best way possible): :sheaf_of_rice:. valley josephine is adorable and is for sure my favourite valley combo overall! i think calling her valley jo would be so cute! have i ever told you i know a lady named shiloh? every time somebody mentions her i think of you! anyways the combo shiloh valley is very pretty and i really like her for you guys!

:blossom: [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]: i really like this one for you guys! wynnie and ruthie would be the cutest sisters and i am obsessed with this set! ruth evangeline is absolutely stunning. i also love evangeline’s meaning, bearer of good news. ruth hosanna is so pretty too! she is really up there with my favourite hosanna combos!

:blossom: [name_m]Kindred[/name_m]: you have totally sold me on kindred! she seem so perfect for elowyn’s sister and wynn and kit is ever so lovely! indy is also such an adorable nickname. i also love all the connections to your family, which is always such a bonus! kindred josephine is ever so lovely and i just love this combo for you!

this, this! this is absolutely stunning and i can see how much you love her :white_heart:

:blossom: [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f], [name_f]Merit[/name_f] and [name_f]Marigold[/name_f]: ah this is such a pretty trio, haha! i really love rosemary for you guys and the connection to your r seems ever so lovely. also i remember you mentioning you like to garden so i also like that connection! i like merit for y’all but more for a middle, lenorah merit is so stunning and i am obsessrd with her! lenorah will also be a favourite of mine for you guys. marigold is really lovely and i do like her a lot for you guys! wynn and goldie would be the sweetest sibling set and i could totally see you guys with these two! back to rosemary, rosemary sonnet is lovely. and all the way back to marigold theodosia. i like this combo but i think it is a lot. i slightly prefer marigold theodora or marigold teodora.

:blossom: [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f]: i really like this name! and especially for you guys! i really love chavalah ā€œchavaā€ for you and in general. i think that you dreamt about chava makes this name makes this name even more perfect for y’all. on combos i like rosemary chavalah and love the vibes i am getting from her! chavalah marigold is so so stunning and is my favourite marigold combo for you guys! i am actually obsessed with that combo, haha. chavalah willow is super pretty! chavalah is definitely in my top three for you guys.

:blossom: [name_f]Fern[/name_f]: i have always loved fern for guys! i love the subtle nature connection between all your girls. if you are worried about it being a bit close to your florence, i could also totally see miss fern as a middle for y’all! i really love the combo luella fern for that. i also like sylvie fern, though sylvie isn’t a personal favourite of mine. for fern as a first i really like fern dorothy! something about the the quirky fern with the more classic dorothy is so cute!

:blossom: [name_f]Solveig[/name_f]: honestly, i was not too sure how to say solveig, but after i quick google search i think i’ve got it. i do think solveig is quite dashing but may be a little hard for americans to say. with that being said i think people could get it after being told how to pronounce her. also adding that since it isn’t unheard of in your area it should be completely fine. i really like sol has a nickname and also think sunny would be a adorable nickname as well. wynn and sunny sound adorable (same with sol!) out of the combos solveig meadow is adosultely stunning and is my favourite out of the three and for you. solveig beatrice is quite nice but something about the flow is a bit off? solveig foxglove is my least favourite out of the three, but still just as stunning, foxglove just isn’t my favourite name.

my favourites for you guys, in order are [name_m]Kindred[/name_m], [name_f]Valley[/name_f], [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f].

I hope this helps and am sending you baby dust :sparkles:

Without wanting to get the wrong emphasis, I do love [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] & [name_f]Solveig[/name_f] together - [name_f]Solveig[/name_f] [name_f]Lilias[/name_f], [name_f]Solveig[/name_f] Rosevale* & [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] Solveig.** They sound so windswept and historical. :ocean:

With [name_f]Solveig[/name_f], I think you could just about use [name_f]Valley[/name_f] as well as [name_m]Sol[/name_m] for a nickname.

*or another [name_f]Rose[/name_f] name, just not sure about [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] flow.

** just realised might sound like kind soul, which is lovely but perhaps too literal.

I like [name_f]Marigold[/name_f] too - makes it lean more storybook vintage (I love [name_f]Goldie[/name_f] & [name_f]Honey[/name_f] as nicknames). Speaking of, as a wildcard/ off cuff thought: [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Clare[/name_f] could be delightful as a pairing - nn [name_f]Honey[/name_f] or [name_f]Goldie[/name_f] via meaning of [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]. :sunflower:

i also feel like you’re seeing my vision with [name_f]Chavalah[/name_f] and i’m here for it :white_heart:

thank you so much!!

thank you!! :white_heart:

i agree that [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] does fit very well with Wynn’s name, and i love all the nickname potential! i still love [name_f]Lenorah[/name_f] so dearly, too :tulip:

thank you so much! :white_heart:

i love a vote for [name_m]Kindred[/name_m] :face_holding_back_tears:

i agree, it would be so special to tell our future daughter that her brother in heaven named her. that’s something that is soo hard for me to get over with [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] :wilted_flower:

i love Ruth’s story, too. ever since i heard it at Bible school as a child, i wanted to name my daughter after it, and [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] was almost [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]

thank you for your kind words and insight, [name_m]Kit[/name_m]! you are the best :white_heart:
