hello, again!
i am just adoring our lists and chatting these over with you guys, so i thought iād share our boy list; it also gives my husband a bit of a break from the name discussion, which he loves, but just not quite as much as i do ![]()
so without further adoā¦
for a baby brother ![]()
[name_m]Oakley[/name_m], [name_m]Oaks[/name_m], and Oakah ā a tree name to match our sweet [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f], with a bit of cowboy twang that my husband adores. [name_m]Oakley[/name_m], [name_m]Oaks[/name_m] and Oakah also feel reminiscent of āOaks of Righteousnessā found in [name_m]Isaiah[/name_m]. we almost gave our daughter the name [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f] [name_m]Oak[/name_m], so this has been a longtime favorite. [name_m]Oakley[/name_m] [name_m]Jude[/name_m], [name_m]Oaks[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m], and Oakah [name_f]Shiloh[/name_f] are combinations weāve considered for a baby boy.
[name_m]Theodore[/name_m] ā a family name with so much history, and the touching meaning āGift of Godā. i know that he is extremely popular right now, but i love the timelessness and gentle strength he evokes. weād absolutely call him [name_m]Theo[/name_m], and are considering [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Jude[/name_m] and [name_m]Theodore[/name_m] [name_m]Amias[/name_m], but i think heād make a great middle name for us, too!
[name_m]Rowan[/name_m] ā another tree name that my husband has finally come around to as a brother for [name_f]Elowyn[/name_f]. i think he perfectly honors our babies in heaven, [name_f]Willa[/name_f], [name_m]Rivers[/name_m], and [name_f]Wren[/name_f], with those R and W sounds and nature connection. [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] and [name_m]Rowan[/name_m] [name_m]August[/name_m] would be two ideas weād consider.
[name_m]Augustine[/name_m] ā this name reads very āi come from a Catholic familyā to me, and i honestly love it. my husband and i met on St. Augustineās feast day and actually found out we were pregnant with our daughter on his feast as well, just 6 years after our meeting. sort of stuck on combinations other than [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] [name_m]Jude[/name_m] and [name_m]Augustine[/name_m] [name_m]Forest[/name_m], and i will note that we pronounce this āAu-GUS-tinā.
[name_m]Shepherd[/name_m], [name_f]Shiloh[/name_f], and [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] ā i grouped these sweet boys together, as i absolutely love a sweet and spiritual S name. i think many folks on this site would associate [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] most with us, but iād love to hear what you think best fits with our babiesā names. [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] [name_m]Wells[/name_m] and [name_f]Shiloh[/name_f] [name_m]Jude[/name_m] would probably be our most likely choices for middles, but i love the combinations [name_m]Silas[/name_m] [name_m]River[/name_m] and [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] [name_m]River[/name_m] as well.
[name_m]Judah[/name_m], [name_m]Jude[/name_m] ā from about 15 on, iāve had [name_m]Judah[/name_m] [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] tucked away as my sonās name. it still feels so right for us, and it was one of our top choices, following [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] [name_m]Hayes[/name_m], if our daughter had been a boy. i love the hymn āThe [name_m]Lion[/name_m] and the Lambā and of course that [name_m]Lion[/name_m] of [name_m]Judah[/name_m] connection. my husband is very connected to [name_m]Saint[/name_m] [name_m]Jude[/name_m], so iāve roped him in here too. they are both so spiritual and strong, but have different vibes in my mindā i probably prefer [name_m]Jude[/name_m] as a middle name, as one can probably figure from the other combinations iāve shared!
[name_m]Herschel[/name_m] ā it was so hard to choose between [name_m]Herschel[/name_m] and [name_m]Hollis[/name_m] for this list, but in the end, [name_m]Herschel[/name_m] has much more familial significance to us, on both sides. our [name_m]Herschel[/name_m] would most definitely be [name_m]Herschel[/name_m] [name_m]Wells[/name_m] for [name_m]Psalm[/name_m] 42:1, āAs the deer pants for flowing water, so i long for you oh Lordā.
[name_m]Wilder[/name_m] ā as i mentioned previously, iāve adored [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] since the beginning of my Nameberry days. i love the āuntamedā meaning, and ideally iād pair it with [name_m]Jude[/name_m] or [name_m]Judah[/name_m], for the meaning āuntamed praiseā. I just get chills when i think of that combination! iām also a very big fan of [name_f]Laura[/name_f] Ingalls [name_m]Wilder[/name_m]. throughout my life, iāve lived in three different places that she has, and when i go home to my grandparentsā farm in SD i follow the highway named for her. she, much like the midwestern prairie just has a very special place in my heart and [name_m]Wilder[/name_m] always will too.
[name_m]Earnest[/name_m] ā [name_m]Earnest[/name_m] is a new love for me, but certainly not for my husband. he has loved this name since he was quite young, and championed it, along with [name_m]Harlan[/name_m], for our daughter before we found out she was a little girl. i recently found out it is the name of my three times great grandfather. he was [name_m]Earnest[/name_m] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], and i would absolutely use that combination as well, but lately iāve also been loving [name_m]Earnest[/name_m] [name_m]Oak[/name_m] and [name_m]Shepherd[/name_m] [name_m]Earnest[/name_m] [name_m]Jude[/name_m]. if my husband had his way, heād be [name_m]Trail[/name_m] [name_m]Earnest[/name_m] or [name_m]Earnest[/name_m] [name_m]Boone[/name_m].
as with my baby sister post, iād love to hear your thoughts, and friends, thank you endlessly for your kindness and help. talking about the future names weād love to bestow on little ones is really helping us hold out hope right now, and feels like a way we can love them from afar. ![]()
