I have decided on [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f]. I just love it so much. Can you help me find the right middle name?
My imagery:
[name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] is an adventurer. A tree climber. She will play around the rocks at the beach. Her favourite place is the forest. She loves painting fauna is watercolour. She presses ferns and leaves in books. She wears a khaki parka. A ranger hat or a beanie. Jeans in khaki/tan/black/brown. Striped shirts and sweaters. And she almost always has a pair of [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] rainboots or Duck boots on her feet.
I love [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f]. [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvana[/name_f] almost have too similar of a feel for me–[name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] and [name_f]Sylvie[/name_f] feel nicely balanced.
[name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] Tamarix. This, btw, is a tamarix tree: http://oregonstate.edu/dept/ldplants/images/tapa41.jpg They’re very hardy but have dreamy pink flowers. Tamarix has never been widely used as a name but does sound like a blend of [name_f]Tamar[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. Which are, in fact, each names I could see blending well with [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f], as they are vintage and femme but not ultra-princessy.
So my next two suggestions are [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_f]Tamar[/name_f] and [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Tamar[/name_f] best said the Hebrew way, ta-[name_f]MAR[/name_f], not [name_u]TAY[/name_u]-mer or like lion tamer. [name_f]Tamar[/name_f] means “date palm” and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] means “blessed.”
[name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_f]Jonquil[/name_f] http://www.flickr.com/photos/rhubarbpie/3333568731/ [name_f]Jonquil[/name_f] is another name for daffodil. Daffodils are not particularly formal or elegant flowers, but I really love them. They come back for years and years on their own and grow under trees and naturalize. They are very cold hardy and I love their sunny disposition.
[name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] - [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] goes with a lot of names as far as flow, honestly, but also with [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] I like the half-sensible vintage name, half-Welsh mystery aspect. And “sea lord” blends with your description of [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] to suggest a little girl who rows her own skiff and plays on rocks by the water and feeds pelicans. This is more nature-y or water-y than forest-y though sorry.
I had seen your post before but not replied, I was trying to think of more names. Sorry. I might be back later if that’s ok.
Thank you! I really like [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_u]Marian[/name_u], [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_u]Meredith[/name_u] & [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_f]Fern[/name_f]. Keep suggesting, it’s great to hear other people’s ideas.
[name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_f]Tamar[/name_f] or [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_f]Tamarind[/name_f] are the first things that came to mind. Something sleek and subtly nature-y.

[name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_u]Scout[/name_u]
[name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_f]Faline[/name_f]
[name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_f]Saffron[/name_f]
[name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_u]Aspen[/name_u]
[name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_f]Cecile[/name_f]
I really like [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] a lot! I think it can fit in that familiar, yet unusual domain that most berries want in a name. I especially like the nicknames: Rho, [name_f]Rhody[/name_f], or [name_m]Rhodes[/name_m] (It will fit right in with the children name [name_u]Rory[/name_u] or [name_m]Brody[/name_m] for example).
Might I suggest [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvaine[/name_f] or [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f] [name_f]Sylvianne[/name_f] based on the choices that you originally suggested? I adore most Sylv- names (with [name_f]Silvia[/name_f] being my favorite) and really like the completeness these to bring to [name_f]Rhoda[/name_f].
