A MN for My Darling Dolly

I know [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] is an unpopular choice for a first name, but humour me for a hot minute - what middle name do you prefer with [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] (family name)?

  • Dolly [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]
  • Dolly [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]
  • Dolly [name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
  • Dolly [name_f]Sophia[/name_f]
  • Dolly [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
  • Dolly [name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
  • Dolly [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
  • Dolly [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]

Thank you!

I actually think [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] is super sweet and would love to see it used irl! (Maybe more as a nn, but if [name_f]Molly[/name_f] and [name_f]Polly[/name_f] can stand alone, why not [name_f]Dolly[/name_f]?)

I was pretty torn between [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f], [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], and [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], but I went for [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] (obviously) because I think [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] is less expected and it just sounds so perfect with [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] for me. Really, though, any of these would work well!

Josephine, [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] or [name_f]Harriet[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Dolly[/name_f]

I love [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] so much! So happy she’s getting some attention from you! [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] struck me for some reason. Absolutely lovely!

Thank you all

@futuremama - [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] was my great-grandmother’s name, and she went by [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] pretty much exclusively from birth until she passed away last fall (95-ish years?), so it seemed like a nice combination for me as well!

Dolly reminds me 100% of [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_u]Madison[/name_u]. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite MN is [name_f]Katherine[/name_f], just because it gives a heavier feel to the lighter [name_f]Dolly[/name_f]. [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is also nice.

Dolly [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] or [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] sound best to me!

Dolly [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] balances it well for me - [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] is cutesy and [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] is regal. I like this pairing.

I love [name_f]Dolly[/name_f]. The namesake [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_m]Parton[/name_m] makes it very wearable to me! I like [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] if you’re looking for something more versatile even though I dont think it’s an official nn pairing but I just like it!

I once worked in school with a girl called [name_f]Dolly[/name_f]. It works fine.

Dolly [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is my favourite but I also love [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_f]Victoria[/name_f] and [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f].

Other suggestions:
[name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_f]May[/name_f]
[name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_u]Gale[/name_u]
[name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_f]Melody[/name_f]
[name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] is so cute. If you want a more formal name that she can use in all settings as an adult, consider [name_f]Dahlia[/name_f] or a [name_f]Delilah[/name_f]. Nn could be [name_f]Dolly[/name_f]. Middle name could [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_u]June[/name_u].

Thank you :two_hearts: I’m so glad others love [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] as well!! I was shocked when S/O picked [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] over [name_f]Dottie[/name_f], actually lol.

I think I’m now between [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] and [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], but I love [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] as well, @Etymology!

[name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] would be my first pick but [name_f]Dolly[/name_f] [name_f]Margaret[/name_f] is a close second.
