This isn’t a typical name request, but I’m trying to come up with a name for a social media website in the world I’m writing. I don’t want a name that’s too obviously a parody of an existing social media apps like Facebook, Instagram, etc. because all of those will exist alongside this website. I want something that also has that iconic sort of sound, like you’d believe it if this were a new website.
I’ve considered naming it Skyline, but I’m not too sure because it’s a bit of a broad name and maybe people will think of Skyline Chilli or something first. Examples of names that have the vibe I’m going for but obviously can’t use are Dubstreet, Everloop, MySpace, FaceUnion.
Any ideas appreciated!

I think Skyline is a great name for a fictional social media website! If it helps, I’ve never heard of Skyline [name_m]Chili[/name_m].
Maybe something like…
Starnet or StarNet
Bulletin Board / Bulletinboard / BulletinBoard
Lifeline
Snapshot
LiveAlbum
Everlink
[name_u]Vega[/name_u] [name_f]Live[/name_f]
FlashCam
TheMoment
Lifecycle

A good one could be ‘urlive!’ kinda the idea of you can only do live streams on it! And after the content has to be downloaded within a week or it’s gone forever! it would be GREAT for drama!

Skyline is very cool. It does remind me of Skyline Drive, but that might only be a regional association since it’s in my state. It also reminds me a little bit of Skype. Never heard of Skyline [name_f]Chilli[/name_f] though. I do think it’s usable, but here are some more suggestions!
Panorama
Logodox (prefix “word” + suffix “opinion”)
Fika (Swedish for a coffee break with friends)
Vibe Check
Paracosm
[name_m]Ludo[/name_m] (Latin for “I play (games)”)
[name_m]Cosmos[/name_m]
This was really fun to think about, I hope my reply was helpful!

I like Skyline, but I immediately think of Skyline [name_f]Chilli[/name_f] (granted, I am from Cincinnati). However, I think people outside of Ohio wouldn’t think of it that way.
Maybe something like [name_f]Imagine[/name_f], Kuva (it means photo in Finnish), or LiveLink might work? Good luck!

Your fictional social media website sounds intriguing! Coming up with a unique name can be a fun challenge. How about considering names like PulseWire, EchoSphere, or StreamConnect? They have that iconic vibe you’re looking for without being obvious parodies. Social media now contains a lot of hidden gems out there to boost your online presence, like you can buy real youtube views. It’s a great way to give your YouTube channel a genuine boost. Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I hope these suggestions spark some inspiration for your fictional website’s name.
I like Younity and also EchoSphere, if this is still a thing that you’re doing lol
Okay actually now I’m using EchoSphere for my fictional gaming chat site (kind of like Discord), and the main social media site that people use I’m calling LinkLife, with a secondary site called Zipflash that’s generally only used by old people, nerds, and vaguely shady people. So if you used any of those lmk and I’ll change them
[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! I wonder what name you came up with?

How about “NexNet”? It has that futuristic ring to it, and it’s not too close to existing social media names. Plus, it’s catchy and memorable. Additionally, as you’re building your fictional world and social media website, don’t forget about the power of real-world social networks too. You could even consider utilizing facebook Ad profiles for sale. This can be a fantastic way to boost your online presence and attract a larger audience of readers to your work. After all, social networks are an amazing way to share your art and gain popularity among a broad and engaged audience.
